Last week I began sharing my favorite Pinterest pins with you and received a lot of wonderful feedback. Thank you! With that in mind, today's post is a new "Share the Love" featuring my favorite Dream Home pins. In looking back at all those that caught my eye, I noticed a definite theme. Everything captured some element of bright, white, elegant and cheerful…all of which describe, for me, the perfect facets of any dream house. Contrast and color are also major themes, as they do for a home much of what they do for a wardrobe. That being, effortlessly tie together a chicly designed room or well-dressed woman. Either way, the result is always lovely.

Where fashion leads home design follows. What is it about dressing our home to reflect our personal style? It must be the love of all things beautiful. Happily, boutique and store owners share our adoration and hear our call. It seems like everyday I come across a new and chic little shop selling the most beautiful can't-find-it-anywhere-else items. These little pretties seen here are elegantly and effortlessly found at the preppy and eclectic shop known as Nellie and Bean. From notecards and sweet treats for the littles to gorgeous gems and jewels for the grown up girls, this darling shop is filled with all the things a girl loves. Little bits of heaven all waiting to be discovered.

Mornings…Those glorious stolen moments before your feet touch the floor or your mind starts to search for all the things you could, should, or gratefully get to do today…One lovely way to start any day is with a cup of your favorite flavor. {Mine's cocoa throughout this very long winter!} What's even better is enjoying it in your favorite 'make me happy' little mug. Ever since I bought my first holiday mug years ago, I've found myself slowly but steadily adding new favorites, each with their own little personality that mirrors a facet of my own. And, the funny thing is, they're not all just for those sweet sips. I actually also use mine for holding everything from lipstick wands and makeup brushes to gorgeous fresh blooms.

Happy Friday lovelies! Friday tends to be a favorite day for so many of us, so I want to spend the day sharing with you all some of my favorite Little Bits of Lovely. My heart always beats a little bit faster when it sees the beauty of anything blush, gold or heart-shaped. You'd never guess, right? Wishing you a beautiful, love-filled weekend!

Merry almost Christmas! With the beautiful holiday just days away, I wanted to take the time to capture those magical moments I love that make the season shine. From trimming the tree with family and wrapping presents for loved ones to lacing up those skates for a spin past the big tree, Christmas is filled with all the things my heart adores.

Cold winter days and nights are best spent with your hands cupped around something delightfully warm and sweet. I enjoy my daily cup of cheer in this darling little mug, perfect for the season. Of course, a nibble is always the perfect treat to go with it, courtesy of holiday baking. Nothing's better than the delicious smell of warm baked goods enveloping the kitchen and the house, morning, noon and night.

As much as I love shopping, it always feels so satisfying to have all my gift gathering done and be ready to wrap it all up in pretty papers and bows. Choosing the colors and themes is almost as fun as picking out the presents themselves. This year, the honors go to Kate Spade for the most chicly charming gift wrap collection.

Home design is a lot of work. And just like an outfit, putting the finishing touches on a room can pull it all together and give it that refined feel. But, so often, the finishing touches get left out because by the time you get to that point, you're either past your budget, out of inspiration, or can't figure out what else the room needs.

Here are my top 10 favorite finishing touches sure to spruce up any room:

One of the best parts of the day is that quite time when you can wrap yourself up in a warm and snuggly spot, grab your reading media of choice and just be. In honor of that daily moment of "ahhh", today's post is dedicated to creating a reading nook in your living space. Surprisingly, this is not at all hard to do and can be yours in just a few simple steps. Let's take a look...

STEP 1: Find the perfect furniture piece for your home and style. I personally like the look of this fainting couch {so chic!} but the choices and possibilities are limitless. Just be sure the piece you choose fits the area you're designing as well as the overall decor of the space.

STEP 2: The designated spot should have two light sources: natural and artificial. A large, spacious window makes for easy daytime reading. When it comes to lamp choices, a tall, slim design most often works well in a corner space as it brings balance to the other larger pieces as seen here.

STEP 3: Use pillows and a throw to lend a sense of coziness to your reading nook. These soft pastel hues play nicely with the charcoal and golden yellow tones. A creamy ivory throw is the perfect finishing piece as well as a welcome addition to the space on those upcoming chilly fall nights.

STEP 4: Acquire a side table with personality that speaks to the feel of the room. I especially like the pattern and open weave texture of the one shown here, as I feel it adds depth to the mid century modern look and feel of the room. This piece adds pizazz and a spot to hold your beverage or snack.

STEP 5: Candlelight always adds ambiance to any setting. What better spot is there for sweet tranquility than your little oasis? Today's market is filled with every fragrance candle imaginable in a wonderful array of shapes, sizes and styles. The hardest part is choosing your favorite. A personal pick: Capri Blue's Volcano Candle...just amazing.

STEP 6: Your reading nook is not complete without a perfect little piece to hold your books and reading materials. Have fun finding something patterned or unexpected as it will add a little bit of "wow" and personally crafted style to the overall look you've created.

These six simple steps can be tailored to suit any space from a high-style home to a college dorm room. The most important thing to always remember is to design your space to suit your style, whatever it might be. You'll know you've gotten it just right when you never want to leave.
