Hello beauties and happy Monday!  I'm here to hopefully help you start the week on happy note.  What better way to do that than with a lovely little nod to spring?  While autumn is my all time favorite time of year, spring is a pretty close second.  With its soft, serene skyline and gentle watercolor brushstrokes, I feel like I'm living in a painted Parisian paradise.  Ah, could there be anything better? I didn't think so, haha.  But honestly, the colors of the season are so happy and joyful and deserve some love shown their way.  I've loved pastels since I met them and spring makes it easy to incorporate them into my wardrobe.  This spring sweater and these well-worn jeans are the perfect shades of blue.  I love the sense of calm they bring.  I'm also a huge fan of all things pink....oh, have you noticed?  Whether it's a running shoe, shade of lipstick or luxurious body polish, I am always all in.  A thoughtful splash of ivory, and a few well placed pops of gold or silver round out those spring vibes and leave you looking as fresh as a daisy!

Can you all believe that Easter is almost here?  It will have a very different kind of a feel for so many of us this year. I'm finding though that through all of this and the unfortunate events of the world right now, we are all finding those silver linings and becoming more and more appreciative of the little things along the way.  Hoping you feel the same!

xx,

Beach days have recently gotten a bad rap but don't fear, all is not lost.  With a little planning and thinking ahead, the beach and its sun-soaked rays can still be your happy place.  The first thing you'll want and need is a really great tote that's roomy and well-designed so that it can carry the must-haves and make them easy to grab on the go.  I am adoring this chic little (or not so, really!) striped number by Kate Spade. Who else?  Inside I always make sure to take along these magic miracle makers.  First, if you want your skin to love you for life then always treat it right with a very good quality sunscreen.  I tend to favor physical blocks for several reasons.  Mainly because they shield and protect your skin without a heat-induced breakdown, they don't produce free radicals and are less irritating than their chemical block counterpart.  This one by Supergoop! also doesn't give my skin a white veil like some titanium oxide based options can do.  Hair needs sun protection too (as well as color-saving hydrators for us poolside girls).  I keep mine silky, smooth and free from fading with this hydrating water-resistant mist.  Truly delicious and one of the best beauty treats of summer.  With my skin and hair covered that leaves only the lips which also need major protection.  I keep mine pillowy and soft with a moisturizing SPF lip balm.  Fresh Sugar's Nude lip hydrator is just about perfect and gets the job done.  Some other beach day bring-alongs are my super dark sunnies, a waterproof mascara, a few snag free hair ties (these are amazing), a fun hat (loving this one and this one too) and my favorite new earbuds.  With the beach tote filled for fun, who's ready for the long holiday weekend?

It's a beautiful Monday and that deserves a round up of my February favorites among beauty products.    Winter can be extra harsh and finding the right products to support and supplement your skin is essential.  This peptide rich serum from Mario Badescu is the most hydrating product I've ever used. Ever.  After applying it, I actually forgot to use moisturizer or eye cream because my face was just dewy and supple.  Now I plan on ordering a case of it, haha. Not really kidding.  Color is also key especially before you get sun-kissed.  This Bobbi Brown cheek palette gives my skin such an ethereal, lit-from-within glow that I love.  It also pairs prettily with this luscious lip cream and liquified long wear lipstick by Too Faced.  No matter how many times I'm tempted by eye-catching quads, I still unwaveringly return to the classic neutral palette.  Urban Decay's iconic collection aka The Nakeds is starring in my beauty lineup right now.  I love how it can give just a little bit of polish when that's all you want or need and then glam up your nighttime look by going a little deeper with the smokey, buildable hues.  When it's all said and done, this Clarisonic Mia 3 is my latest skin indulgence for perfectly taking off the day and prepping my face for its nightly job of replenish and renew.

Wishing you a beautiful Monday!

Like so many well-known things, beauty really is a girl's best friend.  There's so much to love that it never gets old.  Today I'm highlighting the basic three elements that are the essentials when it comes to any beauty routine (skincare aside, as that is a whole other ballgame).  Lips, eyes and hair, those are the focal points everyone sees when they look at you.  I say let's make sure they always shine, sparkle and flow.

As somewhat (ok, a major) self-proclaimed beauty junkie, I find myself routinely reaching for the latest innovators while incessantly following the instagram of Eva Chen.  That girl knows a thing or two about beauty for sure.  Through it all, I am always finding new items fit for falling in love with.  This leave-in conditioner  from J.Crew is definitely on that list.  What started with RMS beauty is steadily evolving into a cult following for the much-loved by me brand.  These little charmings are also hard to resist.

Another up and coming brand that I'm really into right now is It Cosmetics.  Born out of a true entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality, this little powerhouse is making major headlines and gaining speed.  Everything I've tried from the line so far is fantastic.  I'm especially enjoying this brilliant little face framing brow tool.

Finally, my favorite of the moment beauty crush is the YSL lip.  It lights up the face like nothing else and looks just runway perfect.  I simply adore it.  What beauty all-stars are you loving lately?  Hope you're having a great week so far and thanks for visiting!

While the stars get ready for the red carpet this weekend, I thought I'd put together a quick and easy little how-to on how to get your own "Wow!" worthy lashes.  When I think of my desert island products two things come to mind, lips and lashes.  Even if all you wear are these two beauty powerhouses, you'll be sure to attract some admiring glances.  Surprisingly, they can do all you need if you just remember a few key steps.

Let's talk lashes…

These four fast fixes will have you batting that feminine fringe even if you don't have lashes that are naturally long and lush.

1.  TIGHTLINE IT:  Think of someone with thick, full hair and then someone else whose is fine or thin.  Notice the difference in their parts.  The thick haired one has a part that's hard to find but the fine haired person has a part that is easy to spot.  The same goes for your lashes but the good news is you can make them look full and thick.  How to do it: Line the inner rim with a black waterproof liner like It Cosmetics' Tightline or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

2.  ADD DEPTH:  Once you add dimension to the roots of your lashes, close the deal by adding a thin {or thick if you prefer} line atop your lash line on the upper lid.  Take care to stay close to the lash whether going thick or thin as this will assure that you have perfectly provided the illusion of a lush lash line by filling in any and all gaps.  One to try: Lancome Le Crayon Khol

3.  CURL'EM UP:  This step is crucial as it lifts lashes and opens up the eye for a powerful effect.  If you're new to curling your lashes be sure you work slowly and carefully.  Start with a gentle squeeze at the base and then release.  Inch up towards the tips gently squeezing and releasing as you go.  More experienced lash curlers can try the advanced class version of gently warming your curler up with a short burst of air from your blowdryer.  This can be dangerous, however, if you are new to this technique so proceed carefully and always test the curler on the back of your hand before ever holding it near your eyes.  Begin with one of these by: Kevin Aucoin or Shiseido

4.  PRIME & PAINT:  Finally, you are ready to add mascara.  One thing I always do first, however, is swipe on a great primer.  It takes mere seconds to apply and the benefits are immeasurable.  Soften, strengthen and even lengthen your lashes with the help of what is essentially a conditioner for your lashes.  The fibers will also protect and thicken what's naturally yours.  Then, swipe on a coat or two of your favorite black or black/brown mascara, as even blondes and redheads can wear these colors beautifully.  Two you'll love: Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster Primer and Lancome Oscillation Intensity Mascara

And that's it.  It's as easy as one, two, three, four to get the lashes you love!

Let me know how these tips work for you and if you enjoy flashing that fringe.  Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks so much for reading!
