While the stars get ready for the red carpet this weekend, I thought I'd put together a quick and easy little how-to on how to get your own "Wow!" worthy lashes.  When I think of my desert island products two things come to mind, lips and lashes.  Even if all you wear are these two beauty powerhouses, you'll be sure to attract some admiring glances.  Surprisingly, they can do all you need if you just remember a few key steps.

Let's talk lashes…

These four fast fixes will have you batting that feminine fringe even if you don't have lashes that are naturally long and lush.

1.  TIGHTLINE IT:  Think of someone with thick, full hair and then someone else whose is fine or thin.  Notice the difference in their parts.  The thick haired one has a part that's hard to find but the fine haired person has a part that is easy to spot.  The same goes for your lashes but the good news is you can make them look full and thick.  How to do it: Line the inner rim with a black waterproof liner like It Cosmetics' Tightline or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

2.  ADD DEPTH:  Once you add dimension to the roots of your lashes, close the deal by adding a thin {or thick if you prefer} line atop your lash line on the upper lid.  Take care to stay close to the lash whether going thick or thin as this will assure that you have perfectly provided the illusion of a lush lash line by filling in any and all gaps.  One to try: Lancome Le Crayon Khol

3.  CURL'EM UP:  This step is crucial as it lifts lashes and opens up the eye for a powerful effect.  If you're new to curling your lashes be sure you work slowly and carefully.  Start with a gentle squeeze at the base and then release.  Inch up towards the tips gently squeezing and releasing as you go.  More experienced lash curlers can try the advanced class version of gently warming your curler up with a short burst of air from your blowdryer.  This can be dangerous, however, if you are new to this technique so proceed carefully and always test the curler on the back of your hand before ever holding it near your eyes.  Begin with one of these by: Kevin Aucoin or Shiseido

4.  PRIME & PAINT:  Finally, you are ready to add mascara.  One thing I always do first, however, is swipe on a great primer.  It takes mere seconds to apply and the benefits are immeasurable.  Soften, strengthen and even lengthen your lashes with the help of what is essentially a conditioner for your lashes.  The fibers will also protect and thicken what's naturally yours.  Then, swipe on a coat or two of your favorite black or black/brown mascara, as even blondes and redheads can wear these colors beautifully.  Two you'll love: Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster Primer and Lancome Oscillation Intensity Mascara

And that's it.  It's as easy as one, two, three, four to get the lashes you love!

Let me know how these tips work for you and if you enjoy flashing that fringe.  Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks so much for reading!
