With masks being the new accessories we all find ourselves sporting, the eyes have become the focal point of our face now more than ever.  Playful personalities and loving hearts aside, when we are out and about at the moment, our eyes are the connecting point between us and everyone we meet.  With that, a lot of us may be wanting to turn up the volume on our lash game.  I find that whenever I want my eyes to do the talking it begins with a mascara that really works for me.  After many trials and a few errors, I have finally come up with the top five performers and the reasons why I love them.  So, if you are in the market for a mini miracle in a tube, you might want to give one of these a try.

BAD GIRL BANG:  If you're looking for a feathery fringe builder, this one will not disappoint.  The formula is silky yet buildable and the rubber brush knows no clumps.  My lashes grow long and lush with perfect separation for the classic doe eyed look.

L'OREAL VOLUMINOUS:  I bought this one in a pinch one time when I had run out of my usual brand and was soooo happy I did!  Given that I can be pretty picky (okay extremely particular, haha!)  about which mascaras work for me, I was not expecting to find something this good for less than $10.  But, I definitely did!  It is rich in color, easy to apply and the formula really is clump free.  All told this is a great beauty on a budget buy.

IT COSMETICS TIGHTLINE:  Again, when I first saw this little diddy I was skeptical to say the least.  I was, after all, a big brush believer and thought that brush size matters.  Needless to say, my mind was blown by the length and depth I could create with this little powerhouse.  Much like all of the products in this line, it is packed with lash loving ingredients that will nourish and protect your lashes while allowing them to grow long and strong.  And even though it is sold as a lash primer, on days when you just want to keep it low-key, I find it is all I need.

THRIVE CAUSEMETICS LIQUID LASH EXTENSIONS:  I fell in love with this one about a year ago.  After seeing so many fellow bloggers tell about it in their stories, I finally decided to give it a try.  For under $25 I came away with long, lovely, smudge free lashes and a new clean beauty favorite.

LANCOME OSCILLATION:  I've saved the BEST for last and this is my hands down favorite.  That's saying a lot considering the competition you see here.  But, it is still the number one mascara I reach for when I want a flawless flutter.  Unlike any other that I have ever tried, this one gives a nod to the many amazing beauty tools out there today in the way it oscillates.  The gentle vibration takes away the need to wiggle and pull and allows me to quickly create the perfect lash.  The color and consistency are both completely luxurious and within sixty seconds I have built the perfect lash.  Amazing!

What are your favorite fringe builders?  I'd love to hear your recos too!  Have a beautiful Wednesday ladies!

September means the start of many wonderful things!  One of them being the beginning of a new season.  Autumn is a beautiful time in so many ways and it's the perfect moment to refresh your beauty closet.  As the air turns cooler and days grow shorter, the needs of your beauty routine see changes as well.  While skincare products most definitely require a redo {see them in an upcoming post}, your makeup bag will also welcome new additions as well.

One thing I always do is take an inventory of all my makeup brushes and tools.  If you notice any loose, roughed up or sparse hairs on your brushes, it may be time to replace them.  While the initial investment can seem pricey, it is so well worth the money.  By investing in your brush set, you are also giving new life to the cosmetics you already own.  Think of an artist and her canvas.  Imagine the difference between using old and tattered brushes as compared to the quality of fresh and precisely cut artist quality tools.  That's the difference a good brush set can make for your face too.  I am a big fan of It Cosmetics whose brushes are the lushiest, most densely packed brushes I've ever purchased.  They carry your makeup effortlessly and expertly over your face and leave you looking expertly applied.  I highly recommend them!

Color changes are also key come fall.  While we all adore the corals and shimmers we've been sporting all summer, September and so on call for deeper shades of berries and nudes.  This smokey nudes palette from Bobbi Brown is gorgeous and perfect for making the transition.  Always a sucker for a great lip, I'm so in love with these glossy stains from YSL.  Pure pout perfection.

So while we may all be missing the beach for the next few days, there are so many lovely reasons to be excited for what's next.  What are you most looking forward to for fall?

Have a fabulous Tuesday everyone…thanks for reading!

Like so many well-known things, beauty really is a girl's best friend.  There's so much to love that it never gets old.  Today I'm highlighting the basic three elements that are the essentials when it comes to any beauty routine (skincare aside, as that is a whole other ballgame).  Lips, eyes and hair, those are the focal points everyone sees when they look at you.  I say let's make sure they always shine, sparkle and flow.

As somewhat (ok, a major) self-proclaimed beauty junkie, I find myself routinely reaching for the latest innovators while incessantly following the instagram of Eva Chen.  That girl knows a thing or two about beauty for sure.  Through it all, I am always finding new items fit for falling in love with.  This leave-in conditioner  from J.Crew is definitely on that list.  What started with RMS beauty is steadily evolving into a cult following for the much-loved by me brand.  These little charmings are also hard to resist.

Another up and coming brand that I'm really into right now is It Cosmetics.  Born out of a true entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality, this little powerhouse is making major headlines and gaining speed.  Everything I've tried from the line so far is fantastic.  I'm especially enjoying this brilliant little face framing brow tool.

Finally, my favorite of the moment beauty crush is the YSL lip.  It lights up the face like nothing else and looks just runway perfect.  I simply adore it.  What beauty all-stars are you loving lately?  Hope you're having a great week so far and thanks for visiting!

I've heard it said that the way you start your day is pretty much the way things unfold from there.  With that bit of wisdom in mind, I always take time to enjoy a bit of life's little luxuries each morning.  Sometimes that's an artfully crafted latte and others it's playtime in my jewelry box.  Today I'm sharing a peek into my morning routine and the favorite products I like to reach for to start the day off right.

A freshly washed face is always a must.  I get my skin soft and supple with this gentle hydrating cleanser  from Chantecaille.  Although it's a little bit pricey, I've yet to find another that leaves my skin feeling so silky soft and baby smooth.  Having prepped my face and applied my favorite skincare options {more about those another time}, I can get read to play with colors.  Like most of us, I can say I've tried almost all the brands of makeup Sephora has to offer and can decidedly tell you that I've found my favorites.  When it comes to a natural look that's perfect for day, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier are my favorite girls.  I find their products and their techniques strikingly similar.  Aimed at enhancing your natural beauty, their colors and palettes are skin complementing and easy to work with even when you're in a hurry.  This shadow palette is currently my favorite way to get noticed.  One other new comer I've recently fallen for is this unbelievably effective translucent powder by It Cosmetics.  Finely milled and perfect for all skin tones, it gives me an airbrushed effect like no other I've tried.  Finally, I don't know about you but I can never get out the door without a few favorite pieces of jewelry.  Because I tend to collect shiny sparklers, I love to find ways to both keep and display them when I'm not wearing them.  One way that works for me is to use a candy jar for storing my bracelets and bangles.  Everything is kept neat and tidy while sitting pretty on display.

I think everyone deserves a bit of indulgence to start the day.  What's your favorite little luxury?  Wishing you all a fabulous Friday and happy weekend!

Today I wanted to feature some of my favorite beauty must-haves that help get me through the season of sand and sea with both beauty and ease.  I promise you that from lips to lashes, this top ten list doesn't disappoint.

While every season, there are those certain products you just can't live without, what I'm loving most about these picks is that they are all under the thirty dollar mark.  What more could a girl ask for?

As many of my beach days are spent basking under the cutest beach umbrella, my golden glow would never say so.  Sun-kissed color is only a pump away with this buildable color from Jergen's Natural Glow.  Just pinched cheeks always impart a healthy glow as well. Get them the easy way by using this indispensable little miracle worker from Bobbi Brown.  Dab it on the apples of your cheeks for a fresh-faced look.  Add a little on the lips for some low-maintenance lovely.  No mirror required.  Finally, I love to keep my hair lustrous and supple with a great leave in conditioner like this one from Phyto. Your stylist  {and wallet} will thank you come fall.

The first weekend of summer was wonderful!  Hope yours was too.  Now that beach season is here, I wanted to put together a list of my favorite melt proof products that effortlessly resist sun and surf and keeping you looking sweat proof.  Makeup needn't be fussy in order to look finished and that's especially true in summer.  Keep with the basics {a smooth canvas, a bit of color and some flirty fringe} and you'll find they're all you need.  Here are my summer makeup must-haves…

While the stars get ready for the red carpet this weekend, I thought I'd put together a quick and easy little how-to on how to get your own "Wow!" worthy lashes.  When I think of my desert island products two things come to mind, lips and lashes.  Even if all you wear are these two beauty powerhouses, you'll be sure to attract some admiring glances.  Surprisingly, they can do all you need if you just remember a few key steps.

Let's talk lashes…

These four fast fixes will have you batting that feminine fringe even if you don't have lashes that are naturally long and lush.

1.  TIGHTLINE IT:  Think of someone with thick, full hair and then someone else whose is fine or thin.  Notice the difference in their parts.  The thick haired one has a part that's hard to find but the fine haired person has a part that is easy to spot.  The same goes for your lashes but the good news is you can make them look full and thick.  How to do it: Line the inner rim with a black waterproof liner like It Cosmetics' Tightline or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

2.  ADD DEPTH:  Once you add dimension to the roots of your lashes, close the deal by adding a thin {or thick if you prefer} line atop your lash line on the upper lid.  Take care to stay close to the lash whether going thick or thin as this will assure that you have perfectly provided the illusion of a lush lash line by filling in any and all gaps.  One to try: Lancome Le Crayon Khol

3.  CURL'EM UP:  This step is crucial as it lifts lashes and opens up the eye for a powerful effect.  If you're new to curling your lashes be sure you work slowly and carefully.  Start with a gentle squeeze at the base and then release.  Inch up towards the tips gently squeezing and releasing as you go.  More experienced lash curlers can try the advanced class version of gently warming your curler up with a short burst of air from your blowdryer.  This can be dangerous, however, if you are new to this technique so proceed carefully and always test the curler on the back of your hand before ever holding it near your eyes.  Begin with one of these by: Kevin Aucoin or Shiseido

4.  PRIME & PAINT:  Finally, you are ready to add mascara.  One thing I always do first, however, is swipe on a great primer.  It takes mere seconds to apply and the benefits are immeasurable.  Soften, strengthen and even lengthen your lashes with the help of what is essentially a conditioner for your lashes.  The fibers will also protect and thicken what's naturally yours.  Then, swipe on a coat or two of your favorite black or black/brown mascara, as even blondes and redheads can wear these colors beautifully.  Two you'll love: Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster Primer and Lancome Oscillation Intensity Mascara

And that's it.  It's as easy as one, two, three, four to get the lashes you love!

Let me know how these tips work for you and if you enjoy flashing that fringe.  Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks so much for reading!
