I've heard it said that the way you start your day is pretty much the way things unfold from there. With that bit of wisdom in mind, I always take time to enjoy a bit of life's little luxuries each morning. Sometimes that's an artfully crafted latte and others it's playtime in my jewelry box. Today I'm sharing a peek into my morning routine and the favorite products I like to reach for to start the day off right.
A freshly washed face is always a must. I get my skin soft and supple with this gentle hydrating cleanser from Chantecaille. Although it's a little bit pricey, I've yet to find another that leaves my skin feeling so silky soft and baby smooth. Having prepped my face and applied my favorite skincare options {more about those another time}, I can get read to play with colors. Like most of us, I can say I've tried almost all the brands of makeup Sephora has to offer and can decidedly tell you that I've found my favorites. When it comes to a natural look that's perfect for day, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier are my favorite girls. I find their products and their techniques strikingly similar. Aimed at enhancing your natural beauty, their colors and palettes are skin complementing and easy to work with even when you're in a hurry. This shadow palette is currently my favorite way to get noticed. One other new comer I've recently fallen for is this unbelievably effective translucent powder by It Cosmetics. Finely milled and perfect for all skin tones, it gives me an airbrushed effect like no other I've tried. Finally, I don't know about you but I can never get out the door without a few favorite pieces of jewelry. Because I tend to collect shiny sparklers, I love to find ways to both keep and display them when I'm not wearing them. One way that works for me is to use a candy jar for storing my bracelets and bangles. Everything is kept neat and tidy while sitting pretty on display.
I think everyone deserves a bit of indulgence to start the day. What's your favorite little luxury? Wishing you all a fabulous Friday and happy weekend!
