With Love From Kat

Calling all beauty addicts, today is for you!  In a world that's steeped in beauty products and skincare goodies, it's a rare breed that offers us the opportunity to be rewarded (richly!) for our loyalty.  Well, after first hearing about this little company over on one of my favorite podcasts and seeing fellow bloggers and friends highlight them on their sites and social media, my curiosity was building and interest piqued.  So, the beauty sleuth in me began doing some investigating and here's what I discovered...

Beauty Pie the genius work of Marcia Kilgore, founder of Bliss Spa, Soap & Glory and FitFlop.
Essentially, it is a membership-based luxury skincare and makeup membership program through which you have the say of how much you want to spend each month.  The spending level you choose then allows you to pay the member's only pricing.  Without any middlemen, overhead costs or marketing expenditures, we get to reap all the beautiful benefits.  So, that $25 lipstick? It's now only $5, affording you a twenty dollar savings.    If you don't spend as much as you thought you would any given month, the unused funds just roll over to the next.  And, if you fall in love and want more (like me!), spending limit upgrades are available for us enthusiasts as they say, haha.

Honestly, I haven't seen many opportnities quite like this one and I have to say I'm super excited to explore the things they have to offer! Details about the program and how it works can be found here.  But basically, memberships range from ten to thirty dollars a month with the option for an annual $99 per year plan.  For me, the membership plan that I'm choosing is the $20 per month as I feel this gives me the opportunity to shop around , explore the goods and see what I like and love.  The products you see featured here today are some of the ones I'm currently coveting.

This eyeshadow palette is soooo gorgeous and would complement so many skin tones and eye colors with its neutral base.  I also love the glossy pink shade of this high moisture but not sticky gloss.  A swipe of this multi glow highlighting stick will leave you dewy and beautiful.  Love it.  And there are some said to be incredible beauty products too.  I really want to try out this super retinol serum.  The benefits of an effective retinol are unparalleled and this one gets rave reviews.  Following it up with this face oil is going to be the nutrious drink of moisture our end of summer skin craves.

You can try them all for yourself on the Beauty Pie site.  I think you're going to love it!  Please let me know which products you plan to try.  Have a great weekend everybody...thanks for stopping by!

For as long as I can remember, I've had a love affair with California.  From the gorgeous Pacific Coast highway to the northern corner and its majestic peaks, there are a zillion things to love about the Golden State.  I've also been inspired by this girl and her Venice Beach adventures.  So, with that today's post is dedicate to all things Cali and the must-have staples of the west coast girl's closet.  And, even if you aren't heading to L.A., you can look and feel the part.

A pretty little sundress always fits the bill.  This one is so cute and can go to the beach as easily as it can go to dinner.  Great sunnies are a must and these two pairs (here and here) will take you anywhere you want to go.  A silky cami, denim shorts and playful sneakers are the standard uniform for daytime running around.  A raffia bag, cute straw hat and swipe of this gloss round out the list.

Grab your camera when you go because I know those west coast sunsets are not to be missed.  Along with all the other must-see highlights.  Here's to the wanderlust in all of us...Have a great Monday everyone!

TGIF! We made it to Friday and that's always reason to celebrate, haha.  Today I'm also celebrating some of my favorite fellow blogger babes and their incredible sense of style, beautiful families and brilliant passion for what they do.  Not only are these girls pretty in their pictures, they're also lovely in real life.  I've had the pleasure to meet up with almost all of them different industry events and can tell you they are just as sweet in person.

Caitlin Covington is the definition of a southern belle.  If you've never seen her blog, Southern Curls and Pearls add it to your list now.  She and her hubby are the most adorable newlyweds and their cute pup Winnie  is absolutely darling.  She's definitely one to follow if you love southern style and have a   case of wanderlust.

Rach Parcell was the first blogger I ever followed and one of the reasons I was inspired to begin blogging myself.  Her uber feminine site, Pink Peonies, is not only gorgeous but the place I always go to when I want to be inspired.  Rachel started her blog like many of us do, as a way to express her creativity and love of fashion.  Since then she has gone on to create her own clothing line and see her childhood dreams come true.  I'm so inspired by her entrepreneurial achievements and the way she balances them so beautifully with being a loving wife and mother.

Kat Tanita and I met years ago in NYC and I was instantly taken by her candid nature and beautiful spirit.  She's definitely the type of person who you feel like you've known forever and who you can relate to instantly.  Kat is a free spirit and she writes each day from the heart.  I've loved following her journey from NYC to L.A. over on her blog, With Love From Kat and the heartfelt honesty she always portrays.  Her style is elegant and fresh and depicts that of a glamour girl wise beyond her years.

Mara Ferreira is to me today's Dorothy from Oz.  Homegrown, genuinely caring and always kind...Miss Mara is a sweet source of all the wonderful things life can be.  She began her blog M Loves M when it was just her and her husband Matthew.  Since then their journey has led them to become the parents of two angelic children to which she is a fabulous mama!  Her blog is done to earth and features an ethereal feel of Boho chic.  Mara is a sweetheart and I'm so happy of her success on all levels!

Finally, there are Meggan and Brooke from the style guide, Somewhere, Lately.  While I've never met  either of these two ladies, I can bet we'd become fast friends.  With Brooke blogging from New York and Meggan from Texas these two come together seamlessly to share their style savvy and fashion finds.  I love how they are the epitome of the everygirl and show that while the struggle is real so are they.  Personal passion trumps trials and tribulations.

If you follow any of these blogs then you know what I mean.  If not, definitely head on over to check out each one.  You won't be disappointed.  Thank you to each of these incredible ladies.  While of course your beauty and style shines on the outside, it pales in comparison to the beauty within.  Love you all!!

Hello Friday, we've been waiting for you!  While every day brings something to be thankful for, Friday carries its own kind of magic.  I'm kinda guessing you agree.  This weekend has me feeling some west coast vibes.  With daily inspo from incredibly talented west coast babes, it doesn't come as much surprise.  Kat Tanita and Mara Ferreira are each as sweet as they are stunning.  Check out their blogs here and here.  These looks are fashioned after some of the incredible styles they sport.  Easy casual with a touch of glam and boho chic elevated by feminine flair captures the feel.  I'm currently craving every piece you see right here...shocking!  Haha, but if I could only pick three pieces form this set they'd be these whitewashed jeans, this gorgeous skirt and this brilliant clutch.  Each and every one can be effortlessly paired with pieces already hanging in your closet.  And  you can dress them up or pair them down depending where it is you want to go.  In case you're like me and want to window shop all you see, I've linked them all in the thumbnails below.

Hope you're having a great Friday and your weekend's off to a beautiful start!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a lovely weekend…Ours was snow-covered then sunny, the perfect wintertime combination.  Whenever it's cold and blustery, I love to reach for a favorite cozy scarf.  Oversized and oh so soft, the scarf is possibly the most versatile, hardworking piece in any wardrobe.  The Zara plaid blanket scarf seems to have become the iconic must-have of the season and sold out everywhere. This similar option is the one I own and I love it.  It works with neutrals as well as prints (like this herringbone puffer vest).  I'm also adoring this window pane check style one because of its bold statement appeal.  I'd definitely pair it easily with cherry red, black, ivory or the chicest navy.  Houndstooth checks are perfect for now and into late winter, early spring.  They have the ease and ability to play up an all black look and then turn around and complement soft creams and blush pinks and grays late season.  The ways to wear your favorite scarf are as varied as the pattern choices.  I love wearing the soft falling triangle fold.  The way it drapes the neckline is freshly flattering.  For tips and how-tos on the many ways to tie one on be sure to take a peek at this fabulous tutorial here.

Hope your week is filled with wonderful moments…P.S. Stay tuned for some great Valentine's Day gift ideas for him and her wish list craves too coming soon!

Fashion Week has been a whirlwind of gorgeous looks, fast-paced fashion, eye candy palettes and simply put, beauty for miles.  I've enjoyed every moment I was able to spend soaking in the New York fashion set.  One of my favorite of those was being able to catch up with blogger friends from all across the nation.  Here is a photo diary of some of the fun moments we shared amid the New York City skyline.    Naturally, the clothes were amazing…If you like what you see, you can shop some of the looks below. So much thanks to Reward Style, InStyle magazine, Kendra Scott, Ann Taylor, Piperlime, BlueflyZinkÄ“ and Topshop  for all the gorgeous goodies and a wonderful time.

Hope your weekend includes plans for something fun….Happy Friday everyone!

Summer dressing is always fun and even better when it can be done via one easy, amazing piece.  For me that one piece wonder is the jumpsuit {or on hot days the romper}.  Effortless and simple, yet a glamorous throwback to the style born in the sixties, this look is again hot in the fold.  Like so many of my favorite pieces, this one is completely versatile and can easily be dressed up or down.  Meeting the girls for a lunch date?  Try pairing it with a great pair of flat sandals {these are a current must-have} and a conversational belt like this one {on sale!}.  Headed out to dinner with him?  Trade your daytime tote for a glam little clutch and a killer pair of heels.  Voila!  You're date ready and super comfy.  Who doesn't love that?

Hear's to hoping your weekend plans take you someplace you love with someone you adore…Happy Friday!
