Nanette Lepore

One of the greatest finds of summer is a swimsuit that fits just right. Whether it's a tankini, ruffle top bikini or bandeau one-piece, the right swimsuit just speaks to you.  The choices and options are so great and just keep getting better.  My favorite suit of the season is the midi halter bikini.  The prints and patterns are so beautiful and there's definitely plenty to pick from.  This one from Maaji is so pretty and really flattering on.  I love the tropical colors and island feel. For a more ladylike feel with a vintage feel  I'd reach for this gorgeous Kate Spade bow bikini.  The color is amazing and it comes in this fun striped  pattern too.  For times when a one-piece is more the feel, this Nanette Lepore pick is absolutely incredible.  No matter your style, a little bit of searching will find you the swimwear you'll absolutely adore.  You can shop more beautiful options below.  Happy shopping and have a wonderful weekend!!

Majestic New York City is home to so many magnificent sights and iconic landmarks.  No matter your age, origin or attitude, everybody has a New York moment they remember.  Today I decided to put together some of my favorite things about NYC capturing the eclectic rhythm and flavor that only this city can give.

I think almost everyone appreciates the grandeur that New York expresses through its infamous skyline and infinite buzz.  What often goes unnoticed though, are those sweet and sometimes surreal little known spots that give this town its depth and character.  One of these is The Highline.  This one mile linear park, unexpectedly nestled along the lower west side, was inspired by the Promenade plantée in Paris and provides a sweet respite from the daily hub bub.   All of this makes it the most romantic spot for an evening stroll on a summer's night.   Another locale I can never get quite enough of is the famed Central Park.  My most-treasured spot within its sprawling greenery is The Bow Bridge.  Who couldn't find sailing beneath its graceful curve simply swoon worthy?

Sips and nibbles are also a delicious part of city life.  Famed favorites like the Magnolia Bakery are always a must-visit stop during any and all leisurely weekend strolls.  Cupcake lovers be warned!
The Smith is the perfect spot to refuel with locations uptown, downtown and somewhere in between, it's never out of the way.  But when it comes to more love and romance, Salon de Ning and its breathtaking cityscapes is my top choice.

Finally, no trip to the big apple is ever complete without a little bit of shopping thrown in.  That subject is more of a documentary than it is a blog post but I will give mention to a few little gems I favor.  Nolita houses so many loves from Otte NYC to Tory Burch.  Then there's Nanette Lepore who speaks my language, fluently.  There's something for everybody and none of which you'll find everywhere else…don't miss it.
A little walk away, shopping in Soho, Valeria Smith houses all the handbags, wallets, wristlets and candy crave colors any girl could want.  Even if you're not in the market for any new little lovelies, this storefront window alone is enough to lure you in.  Finish your day with some well-deserved tasty bites from Vosges chocolate.  Believe me, you won't be sorry!

Out of all the types of shopping we girls are likely to do, it seems that the one type we'd rather not entertain is swimsuit shopping.  Not to worry!  Today it is easy to find exactly what you're looking for (or at least get reasonably close) and you can even get most of the job done without ever having to set foot inside the dressing room.  Take a look here at some of the styles I found that stylishly address some of the everygirl concerns.

Yes, I know....you are looking at this one thinking HOW could this suit help me?  This particular one is designed to help those who are in search of a little enhancement up top while sporting an easy to wear option.  The bandeau style is perfect for petite on top gals as it fits well on smaller sizes.  The colorful zig zag pattern visually adds more where there is less making this style a great choice for those looking to enhance the bustline.

Now this sweet number does a triple play as it adds volume on top, covers anything we don't like on the bottom half and looks darling and cute while doing so.  I especially like the retro/nautical feel this navy and white two piece embodies as it  reminds me of the pin-up days gone by.

Another retro-inspired look.  This one reflects the images made iconic by Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly.  The halter top draws the eye up and shapes the bustline nicely while the polka dots provide a whimsical feel and distract the eye from potential trouble spots.

These blue and yellow and black and white suits both speak to the "I'm in shape and I love it" girls and would look fantastic on a trimmed torso and those who are petite to average busted.  If that's you I say give it a go!

Or maybe, you feel a bit better with more control and coverage - completely understood.  If that is the case, I think these two strapless one piece choices use color and ruching to your advantage.  The stripes add personality on the first one while the buttons are a great eye catching use of detail on the second.

Once you're done getting your toes wet, why not try on one of these adorable tunic cover ups?  They are truly perfect on everyone as they cover up whatever you may not want to show and come in such cute patterns and styles!

So there you have it.  I hope this helps you narrow down what type of suit might be most flattering on you.  Most importantly though, remember to embrace your own shape and know that it makes you who you are and that is absolutely beautiful.
