Ready for a revelation? It doesn't take a ton of clothes to create an endless array of looks you love and will want to wear everywhere.  Amazing right? Haha, I know!  But seriously, if you've been here for even a little while now then you know that I often feature an item or piece way more than once across multiple posts but style it in a different, fresh way each time.  And while to quote Isaac Mizrahi, who I happen to adore, "A girl needs a lot of clothes" she doesn't sometimes realize how far she can go with a few pieces carefully curated.  

So let's begin with the basics.  A great outwear piece can go in a number of directions depending on what and how it's paired.  This leather jacket is a classic and looks great with everything from a pleated maxi, t-shirt and sneakers to skinny jeans, Chuck's, an oversized sweater and a chunky scarf.  Accessories can always be a game-changer. They are the key to taking any look from playful and feminine to sassy and street-styled with very little effort. When taking things in the direction of today's look, I'm reaching for these Ray-Bans, this bag and a beanie.  This pom pom one is great for adding a bit of sweet to the mix if you want but I also love this one as it gives me model off-duty vibes.

Keeping the look and the pieces neutral gives off winter and cold weather feels.  But once the spring rolls around this jacket will make fast friends with white denim, sheer dresses, tanks and shorts.  The style possibilities are always endless if you just blur the lines a bit and be playful about how you see your favorite pieces taking on some new and unexpected personas and getting stylish together.  Remember there are no rules in fashion other than letting your personal style shine.  Have fun!

Winter blahs? Never! Round out the look with some layering necklaces, a pretty watch and a dainty pair of earrings alongside your favorite handbag (I'm currently loving this one) and you are all set for Saturday or Sunday.

Layering in fall and winter doesn't have to mean bunches of bulk and uncomfortable clothing.  Actually, it can really be a wonderfully cozy and soft way to stay warm while looking adorably chic all season long.  The key lies in the fabrics and pieces you choose to build your cold weather looks upon.  One item I can't live with out is a super soft cami.  I've collected an entire wardrobe of these must-have foundation pieces in every color imaginable.  These are some of my favorites (and I also love these from Nordstrom that are under $15).  With that as a start I also always reach for a tissue tee turtleneck that looks so cute peeking out from under a shorter style sweater.  These from J.Crew are some of my favorites and the fact they come in sweet stripes doesn't hurt either.  Great sweaters in great fabrics also make a major difference in how comfy you end up feeling.  Cashmere is likely one of the most-loved fabrics we'll ever find but there are some other less expensive and just as luxurious options.  These soft ribbed turtlenecks from Madewell are some of my most-worn so far this fall.  This merlot option is especially pretty right now and all are on sale.  Also great to consider is this "so soft I could sleep in it" cropped chunky turtleneck.  Finally, a terrific topper finishes the entire look off so perfectly.  If you've been following my more recent posts, you'll know just how in love I am with this chateau parka.  It's so versatile and says French Alps in all the right ways.  Check the links below for the pieces mentioned and for all the ways to fall in love with layers.

Happy Monday! Hope you had a lovely weekend…Ours was snow-covered then sunny, the perfect wintertime combination.  Whenever it's cold and blustery, I love to reach for a favorite cozy scarf.  Oversized and oh so soft, the scarf is possibly the most versatile, hardworking piece in any wardrobe.  The Zara plaid blanket scarf seems to have become the iconic must-have of the season and sold out everywhere.
