burberry trench

TGIF!  Time for the weekdays to roll into the weekend and your closet loves the change of pace.  Even though the world has become so much more relaxed, the weekend will always still bring with it another level of laidback.

But, if you've come to know me then you'll not be surprised that there is always still some element of getting dressed in every look I put together.  Always, haha.  So let's dive into this one a bit deeper to see which elements can be combined to create the perfect off-duty uniform.

The cornerstone of any really great transitional outfit to me is the trench coat.  And, while the classic camel version is iconic for sure, I am also a huge fan of the navy version.  While it can be a bit harder to come by, if you can get your hands on a nice one, I suggest you grab it and go.

This one from Hobbs London, is a particular lovely fit with some nice double-breasted buttoning, classic gun flaps and epaulettes it makes for such a nice option rain or sunshine.  Shorter overshirt styles like this one also play nicely with those relaxed weekend looks.

Either one pairs well with classic stripes like this jumper and a dark wash pair of denim.  Both navy loafers and classic white trainers can pair back with this look alongside a gorgeous leather handbag.  I'm getting ready to unbox this one over the weekend.

These time-honored sunglasses and some nice gold hoops will complete the look and have you ready for what ever fun the weekend will bring.  Hope everyone enjoys their downtime and dressing for it!

Monday always seems like a good day to start with the simple.  That's true for outfit options too.  A few easy pieces are sometimes all it takes to create a look you love.  These soft shades and a nod to spring are exactly what I'm craving right now.

Embellished collars have been on my radar for awhile now and this dusty blue cardigan is such a great example of why.  It's from & Other Stories which is a one-stop spot I cannot get enough of.  If you've never checked them out, I highly recommend checking their goodies out.

White denim is back in the fold.  Honestly, did it ever leave? Haha, so glad those old rules no longer apply and this pair is one reason why.  I love how easy they are to wear with just about everything and become the perfect backdrop for prints, neutrals or bright, bold pieces.  Such a classic look and I really love them styled with the creams and cognacs you see here.

I don't know about you but I'm already thinking about my spring jacket collection and refreshing a few pieces.  One option I always love having though is a gorgeous trenchcoat.  Black and tan both work beautifully on everyone but my true favorite is the tried and true camel version.  Double-breasted and belted, it is a foolproof piece that adds a touch of classic style to any look.

Once you've built your outfit of the day, nothing's better than finishing it off with your favorite added touches.  I've always loved accessories and now I realize why.  They are the easiest and most fun way to add your personality to whatever you are wearing.  For me that means sunnies (obsessed with this pair right now) of course, my favorite sneakers and a classic handbag.

So many great choices, now we just need spring to get here! Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome weekend! TGIF and Memorial Day Weekend all wrapped up in one.  I'm excited, how about you?  I'm also still reliving every moment of last weekend's nuptials and that beautiful royal affair.  Wasn't it just stunning?  Today I channeled that energy into an English garden party post fit for a princess.  I've always loved the elegance and classic charm of Burberry and this iconic piece covers all the bases.  Beautiful dresses that are pretty on the hanger and gorgeous on the body are something every girl should own at least one of.  A neutral option in a classic silhouette is always a perfect choice.  I also love this floral wrap style.  So feminine and so pretty.  Heels and sunnies or in the case of great British inspo, a hat, are polished finishing touches.  Oh, wouldn't it be incredible to be a duchess for a day?  Wishing you all a wonderful holiday weekend...check back for some can't miss sales!

Happy Monday!  You know it's been a long, long winter when you start looking forward to rain showers.  I think they are actually a kind of a win, win at this point because it's finally too cold for snow and they are a sure sign that spring flowers are soon to follow.  They're also a wonderful reason to wear the cutest coat of the season aka the trench.  I've always loved that turn of the page that leaves behind the heavy coats and scarves and says hello to lighter weight fabrics and bright pops of color.  The trench coat does that so well and can be the perfect topper to any outfit rain or shine. This buttercup single-breasted option is just gorgeous and would bring a ray of sunshine to any day.  I'm also really considering picking up this asymmetrical style one in this delicious shade of grenadine, beautiful!  Anthropologie's take on the look is unmistakably theirs with the soft detailing and almost romantic notion  that makes this draped daytripper trench somewhat irresistible.  Classic colors like camel, navy and black never fail to please and are great go-to color choices.  This Trina Turk flared version in black is so chic and can be worn in endless ways from night out to day off (and it's currently on major sale!).  Calvin Klein has done it again with this navy satin number - love.  How gorgeous would that be with a pair of yellow capris and a nautical inspired boatneck top?

If you're feeling as spring-inspired as me, you can shop these and more of my favorites below.  Happy spring shopping!

One of the tried and true looks you'll never fail to see (or get tired of with so many ways to wear it) is the trench coat.  Classic and oddly elegant, this piece just says springtime to me.  I'm always transported to Paris and London whenever I see it street style.  And, when done with a casually fabulous flair, it's surprisingly not all that tricky to pull off.  I personally love the basic camel trench paired with the French closet staple aka the white and navy striped tee.  A pair of dark denim skinnies, a tiny handbag, round black sunnies and a red ballet skimmer are perfect together.  They give just the right amount of jet-set appeal, with all the ease and elegance a girl needs.  I also love the idea of a black version too.  I could so see it with a sweet pair of black capris, a gingham blousecat-eye sunnies and a tote on my shoulder, filled with my favorite fresh blooms.  Later, turn that look from day to night by pairing it with your favorite lbd, a chic pair of heels and this gorgeous clutch. Ready, set, sparkle!

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely week!
