Christmas is the season of giving (and of course, getting is nice too!) and what better gift to give (or get) than the gift of beauty?  Today's post is all about beautiful ways to treat someone you love to something special they may have never known they needed.

Unlike clothing and personal style, beauty products always fit just so long as you match the ritual to the recipient.  Have a friend who craves her beauty sleep?  Try gifting her this pretty little pink silk sleep mask that will keep her dreaming those sweet dreams and waking up to some gorgeously refreshed eyes.

Anyone on your list have an envy worthy head of hair?  This shampoo and iconic boar bristle brush might be just what she's wishing for to help keep and care for those silky strands.

How about the high-end friend whose skincare obsession leaves your head spinning?  This intensive overnight treatment will not disappoint.  I love how hydrated and cushy feeling it leaves my skin the next day.  And, don't forget the homebody who loves to make her home a haven.  This candle (or any of the lusciously intoxicating scents) will make her day every time she lights it.

Beauty gifts truly feed the spirit and are some of my absolute favorites to give.  I hope you find something to fall in love with for you and for them.  Hope you're having a lovely day!

I always say, "It's the little things" and when it comes to the everyday essentials, they couldn't be more true.  From your beauty rituals to the soft and comfortable things you put against your skin, these little luxuries become bigs ways to enjoy life on the daily.

Beauty routines are huge for me and whenever I find I product I love, I look forward to enjoying it every chance I get.  This bottle of golden sunshine wins that prize right now.  Just a few drops on the ends each night make my hair soft, supple and shiny.  It's also great on wash days as just a few drops give extra moisture when you apply it to damp hair.

The new WFH normal has so many of us reaching for our cozies nearly all the time now and these camis are always in the rotation for me.  They are super comfortable, easy and forgiving and the best thing to layer under everything from sweaters (love this cashmere one) and cardis to sweatshirts and tops.

Speaking of the online work-at-home situation, with it we all could use a pair of these blue blockers to keep our eyes fresh and feeling good.  That and they look cute too!

Daily rituals have become the comforting norm and I can't think of anything better than a delicious way to treat your entire body to silk hydration than with this duo.  This exfoliator and body wash are soooo luxurious and delightful.  They truly make you look forward to sudsing up each day.

Since the senses are the pathway to everything we are feeling, I love nothing more than the daily treat of a delicious smelling candle.  I have so many favorites as you guys well know, haha but this one is especially nice for a winter's day or night.

Ahhh, it is the little things, isn't it?  Well, if you enjoy them half as much as I do, I've everything here in the thumbnails below.  Hope you love them...have a wonderful Wednesday!

To say I'm a bit of a beauty junkie would be, how might I say it, an understatement.  All kidding aside, I am a true aficionado of the art of pampering and making the absolute most of one's individual loveliness.  Hair is such a personal part of one's beauty regime and the image you want to present on any given day.  For me right now, I find myself absolutely loving all things 60's a la Jane Birkin.  To me, this is one of those eras of chic from which today's elements of classic glam were born.  Those long and lush locks with a flash of fringe are everything with me right now.  Add in a gorgeous mix of subtle highlights and lowlights and it's essentially hair nirvana.  Taking care of your tresses is just as important as caring for your skin.  Luckily, there's no shortage of incredible products that will smooth, straighten, shine and satisfy your every styling need.  Oribe is probably my favorite line.  From their luscious Signature Shampoo to the revitalizing Masque for beautiful color, everything I've every gotten my hands on has been other worldly.  With that, I can't wait to try their Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner next.  Ahhhhh. When it comes to styling, I've recently discovered this little gem  from Phillip Kingsley.  Just as the name implies, it gives volume, softness and hold all within three sprays pre-blowout.  What's not to love about that?  This brush and this hair dryer are always at the ready in my bathroom because truth be told, a great blowout is a must in order for your look to last all day.  You can shop these beautifiers along with a few of my other haircare must-haves below.  Hope your having a beautiful Wednesday!

Happy New Year! Whenever January rolls around everyone seems to be making their resolutions for the new year.  For me, I find goals to be so much simpler and a lot easier to achieve. So many of you along with family and friends always ask me for ways to look and feel better.  These ten beauty boosters are some of my favorite picks for getting gorgeous.  Start each day fresh faced and flawless with this decedent cleanser by Eve Lom.  While yes, it's bit pricey at the outlay, the things it does for your skin and the way it softens and smooths is beyond compare.  And, it lasts forever.  I always couple it with my tried and true absolute favorite tool, the Clarisonic.  If you own it, you love it.  If not, trust me, get one. Now.  Your skin will thank you and never be the same.  This curling wand gives my hair the perfect amount of soft, bouncy curves with shine for days.  The fact that it doesn't have a clip on it was tricky at first but so worth the learning curve.  Be sure to become best friends with the heat glove it comes with.   It will save you from all those painful fingertip burns, haha.  These hair vitamin supplements will keep you healthy and your hair lush.  I especially love how quickly they make your locks grow longer.  Finally, while it's nothing new for me, if you are looking for a beautiful, feminine fragrance that you can't live without give this one from philosophy a try.

I hope everyone's new year is off to a beautiful start.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Ten Best Ways to GET GLOSSY

Glossy color. We all want it and, luckily, we each can have it.   With the help of a few simple tips and pro-inspired product choices, you can restore your strands to the days of lush and lustre.  Here's how to make it happen...

CLEANSERS & HYDRATORS:  Right from the beginning, it is important to effectively cleanse hair so that it is free from pollutants and any potential build-up, without it becoming stripped of its natural oils and left susceptible to becoming porous.  Hair care companies are well aware of these concerns and have upped their game with standout products like Living Proof's Restore Shampoo which restores moisture and makes hair more resistant to breakage or Frederic Fekkai's Shine and Olive Oil Shampoo that will leave locks supple.  Following that, it's also a smart bet to replenish any potential moisture loss with a few drops of a really great hair oil like Josie Maran's Argan Oil Hair Serum.  Rich with natural hydrators, this organic-based favorite will have you running your fingers through your hair all day long.

GLAZES:  While conditioners are the daily moisturizers of your haircare routine, glazes take shine to the next level.  Clear glazes can easily be done at your local hair salon and will leave your hair sleek and smooth.  Another option to try is an at-home version like Fekkai Salon Glaze Clear Shine Rinse.

RELENISHING MASKS:  One of the main reasons your hair looses lustre is due to the daily damage it suffers at, you guessed it, your very own hands.  Brushing, combing, heat styling and even towel drying, can all lead to roughing up the delicate hair cuticle.  The more roughness there is, the less shine you have.  To help smooth the surface of the hair shaft try using a nourishing replenishing mask like Ojon's Volume Advance Intenisve Volumizing Hair Mask.  Light but restorative, this hair quencher  will intensively hydrate tresses while leaving them light, soft and bouncy.

GLOSSING FOAMS, SPRAYS & TREATMENTS:  If one is good, two are better.  While that may not always be so, it is true in this case.  Rita Hazan Foaming Gloss does double duty as it provides shine while correcting color and/or covering up a few grays.  This product will maintain your color and keep it vibrant and glossy in between trips to the salon.  Also, get your shine on while styling your hair by using a light and lustre-inducing styler like Rene Furterer's Styling Glossing Spray Luminous Shine.

TOP TOOLS:  Don't let your excellent efforts stop once you're ready to style, as that can be a most crucial turning point.  While it may be tempting to pick up those low cost heat styling tools at the local drugstore, your hair will sadly pay the price.  Given this, it pays to invest in some of the phenomenal advanced technology tools available for use at home.  My favorite picks include the T3 Featherweight Luxe Professional Hairdryer, Sonia Kashuk's Hair Brush and the Mason Pearson Detangling Comb.  Remember, rough hair cuticles and breakage can be mostly to blame for the root cause of lacklustre locks.  Using professional products like these will lessen the likelihood that your hair will be suffering the effects of unnecessary wear and tear.

Wishing you a lovely Monday and great hair days ahead, thanks so much for reading!

Hair Repair.....GET GLOSSY

As much as we all adore summertime, we also know the toll it can take on our hair.  Here are some great tips to help you restore your hair to a beautiful, glossy, glowing mane.

Tip #1  Treat your hair kindly.  This can mean many different things to different people but here are the basics.  When it comes to cleansing the hair, beauty experts recommend that you do not wash your tresses daily.  For some of us who like to enjoy the gym, yoga, etc. this is not always a viable option.  That's ok.  In today's beauty savvy world, the skin and haircare industry has come to recognize the need to move away from harsh detergents and have begun incorporating sulfate-free formulas into their shampoo lines.  If you can find products that are sulfate-free definitely give them a try.  One popular choice here is the WEN Cleansing Conditioner line by Chaz Den.  Made from all natural, hair and skin pampering ingredients, WEN actually uses a conditioning formula to cleanse your hair, remove product build up and hydrate those luscious locks.  I find this line to be especially effective on coarse and/or naturally curly hair types.  For those of you who prefer a bit of sudsing or have fine hair, Aveda makes some wonderful, gentle formulas such as those you can find in their Dry Remedy line.

Tip #2  Detangle  You've probably heard the rumour that you should never brush your hair when it's wet.....it's true!  Wet hair is hair in its most fragile state.  Given this, you want to be as gentle with it as possible.  Try using a large, wide-tooth comb to help glide your conditioner through while in the shower.  If you can, take advantage of the hot steam and let your conditioner sit on your hair at least a few minutes so it can really soak in and soften.  Once you've rinsed the product clean, blot the hair dry (preferably with a soft cotton tee - it's much less damaging than a towel) and gently detangle again from ends to roots.

Tip #3  Hydrate  This is something to remember all year round.  Whether it's the sun, salt and sand of summer or the wind and indoor heat of winter, all the elements can take a toll.  To help combat this, faithfully use a hair mask once or twice a week.  While you can purchase a luxurious, heavenly scented jar from amazing lines such as Kerastase, Ojon and Oribe, I actually love the results I get when using olive oil from the cupboard.  Simply apply a tablespoon or two, depending upon your hair's length.  Concentrate on replenishing the ends and mid shaft as the roots don't need this degree of hydration most times.  Leave it in overnight and shampoo out in the morning.  Your hair will thank you by being supple, soft, manageable and shiny.

Tip #4  Glaze  Once you fall in love with the results of a mask or mega hydrator, you're going to want to keep that going on a daily basis.  To do that, you can consider a glaze.  Whether you decide to go to your favorite salon or prefer to do it yourself at home, a glaze is a fantastic way to seal in hydration, smooth the cuticle and even add a hint of color.  Frederic Fekkai offers a nice at-home option to try.

Tip #5  Take a Holiday  With all the styling options available today, well, let's just say, hot tool help can get addicting.  During the summer months, however, there is no cuter way to go than with a sock bun, low pony or soft braid (being sure to use soft and/or coated hair elastics).  All of these options allow you to take a break from the daily heat of your favorite dryer, rollers, flat iron, etc. These styles also beautifully accommodate some of those oh so nourishing treatments we mentioned earlier.  Why not take advantage of treating your hair while looking sweetly summer chic?

Please give one or some of these hair tips a try and you'll find yourself enjoying luxuriously healthy, glossy, hydrated locks.  You're a beauty, so let it shine!
