Nothing's better than a fresh new month other than a brand new season to go with it.  Yes, foliage walks, star gazing, fashion week and trips to the apple orchard are all in the lineup this month.  With that, today's post is designed to celebrate all these things.  Navy and cream take on a whole new persona come autumn with the addition of some candy apple red and a flash of tortoise thrown in.  Keep it casual with a pretty plaid scarf and an easy pair of boyfriend jeans.  Ahhh, the weekends of fall...what could be better?

Hello, Wednesday!  Look at the wonderful fall fun you've brought with you today!  From colorful leaves to caramel lattes, October is everything that autumn does best.  One of those things includes saddling up to a hayride and traveling on down to the pumpkin patch.  From the time we are little, I really don't think this is a tradition we ever outgrow.  The only difference may be that when we are little girls, it's all about finding the best potential jack-o-lantern in the bunch.  As grown up girls, dressing for the occasion can be just as much fun!  Honestly, is there anyone who just doesn't love cozy sweaters, comfy socks, blanket scarves, plaid and flannels and all the wonderful ways for layering them up?  And what better place to do it than at the cider donut mill?  To cover the bases I'm thinking that these pieces are the keys...an oversized sweater like this to keep warm amid the October chill...a striped turtleneck for layering on the comfort and mixing patterns up...a great pair of farm-friendly boots, a hat to replace last season's sunnies and a gorgeous poncho to take you everywhere you want to go this fall.  Other must-haves can certainly mix and match (thinks vests and boy shirts and chambray as well) as they add new and playful elements to your day-at-play look.  I've linked all my favorites for you below.  Hope they inspire you to some countryside fun this coming weekend!

 Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I spent part of my enjoying a favorite fall activity....apple picking.  New York and New Jersey offer a bevy of choices for U-Pick options.  We headed to this quaint little farm here in Morristown and had the sweetest time picking some juicy, delicious beauties.  Dressing the part is equally fun, especially when the weather is fall-like and perfect.  Denim, Hunters, stripes, plaids and plenty of layers all hit the mark for perfect the look.  This striped turtleneck is such a key staple that can be worn in so many fresh ways.  For outdoorsy moments like this I love it paired with a plaid scarf, excursion vest, jeans and Hunters.  Classic fall!  I also think this corduroy skirt is darling with this plaid blouse, this vest and a great pair of riding boots.  Baseball caps are also super cute (loving this one) and the perfect complement to these casual autumn looks.  Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
