It's Thanksgiving week! And normally that would mean that we'd all be awaiting the upcoming Black Friday sales that were about to happen.  But since it's 2020, some retailers have begun rolling out those sweet steals and deals a little early this year.  Yayyy! Because of that and since I don't want anyone to miss the opportunity to treat their family and friends (or themselves!) to something special at a really great price, I will be sharing some of my favorite sales with you all this week.

Let's get started with Talbot's pre-Black Friday sale that is happening right now.  Talbot's is known for their classic, all-American style and there is no other time of year that calls for that kind of look more than the holiday season.  I've checked out all their offerings and have put together my top picks for gifts your sisters, mom, besties (and maybe even you) will love!  The Very Merry Event is live now and featuring 40% off your entire purchase until November 24th.

This cheerful plaid vest is so festive and fun and would be so perfect paired with an ivory turtleneck and this cute beanie.  Your oh-so preppy little sister will love it!  This Fair Isle sweater is a winter must-have.  I can see it on top of winter white leggings and a great pair of boots.  Add these gorgeous leather gloves into the mix and you have a beautiful gift set any mom would adore. I also think this tailored red wool coat is so pretty and one you can get or gift as its color is right all season long.

Accessories and home gifts are some of my favorite to give.  I am loving this winter candle.  How cute is the buffalo check?  I also need to pick up a few of these holiday mugs which I fill with yummy treats and give as hostesses gifts.  This year, you can send them out with a sweet note and you can share some cocoa over FaceTime if giving it to someone you won't be seeing in person.  I also absolutely love these bow earrings.  How sweet would they be with a low bun, a black cashmere turtleneck, jeans and these flats?  Casual holiday look done.

There are a ton of other great items to scoop up right now on the Talbot's website.  All those pictured are linked in the thumbnails below.  With the year it has been, the least I can do for you is make your holiday shopping easy and fun.  Hope you all love these picks and know the exact right person to gift them too.  I'll be back on Wednesday with more perfect presents from ShopBop...enjoy!

xoxo

For as long as I can remember, I've had an ongoing love affair with neutrals.  From gorgeous makeup palettes and buttery handbags to cozy throws and everything about home decor, neutrals will never let you down.    Fall fashion is no exception and these pieces here are some of the subtle reasons why.  An oatmeal sweater like this one will go for miles in your closet.  I love pairing mine with everything from distressed denim to on-trend coats and toppers.  This plaid blazer plays so gorgeously with it.  I also love to work pretty neutral accessories into the look with great hats, watches and belts that add just the right amount of interest.  This newsboy cap is a current favorite of mine and this belt is high on my want list, haha.  Dark sunnies and chic black ankles boots (I need a new pair and have been eyeing these) round out the look.  A swipe of your favorite pinky nude lip color (this one is my go-to) and you're out the door.

Honestly, with morning minutes at a premium, I can't think of an easier way to get yourself out the door while looking and feeling your best.  Anyone have any other easy to wear looks they love?  Please share, haha!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  I'll see you all with something you're going to love on Friday!

xx,

Hello, Wednesday!  Look at the wonderful fall fun you've brought with you today!  From colorful leaves to caramel lattes, October is everything that autumn does best.  One of those things includes saddling up to a hayride and traveling on down to the pumpkin patch.  From the time we are little, I really don't think this is a tradition we ever outgrow.  The only difference may be that when we are little girls, it's all about finding the best potential jack-o-lantern in the bunch.  As grown up girls, dressing for the occasion can be just as much fun!  Honestly, is there anyone who just doesn't love cozy sweaters, comfy socks, blanket scarves, plaid and flannels and all the wonderful ways for layering them up?  And what better place to do it than at the cider donut mill?  To cover the bases I'm thinking that these pieces are the keys...an oversized sweater like this to keep warm amid the October chill...a striped turtleneck for layering on the comfort and mixing patterns up...a great pair of farm-friendly boots, a hat to replace last season's sunnies and a gorgeous poncho to take you everywhere you want to go this fall.  Other must-haves can certainly mix and match (thinks vests and boy shirts and chambray as well) as they add new and playful elements to your day-at-play look.  I've linked all my favorites for you below.  Hope they inspire you to some countryside fun this coming weekend!

Fall has so many hallmarks from pumpkin picking and cider doughnuts to football and leaf peeping.  What I love about all of them is besides being such great fun, they are also excellent reasons to dress 'fall cute'.  If you're a fan of the season, then you know exactly what I mean.  One staple of the autumn closet is plaid flannel.  Specifically, the flannel shirt.  So soft, extremely cozy and oh-so-easy to style this piece can do the work of millions.  Ok, so that may be a (slight) exaggeration but honestly, this pattern and its fabric can achieve so many cool girl looks you're going to love.  This washed button down classic will be effortless when paired with shorts and ankle boots.  Later it can play nice with boyfriend denim, chunky knits, moto boots and suede cropped jackets.  For a more romantic approach, I just bought this ultra soft off-the-shoulder plaid flannel top.  I can't tell you enough how much I love it!  The feel is amazing and the colors are everything autumn is made of.  Feeling like the weather near you is too warm to pull off the look? Well, try this little number on for size.  Adorable! Hope you're all enjoy a wonderful (short) work week!

It's mid-August already and that can mean only one thing, fall is around the corner.  With that in mind, wardrobe transition pieces will be getting a major workout over the next several weeks.  If you've been out shopping the latest finds and looks, you've probably noticed tons of plaid in all shapes, sizes, patterns and fabrics.  Today I've put together some of my favorite ways to wear the classic fall look both now and moving forward.  This plaid shirtdress (designed by fellow blogger Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere fame) would work perfectly on those still warmish days paired with a great pair of ankle boots and this bag.  When days turn a little bit cooler I'll be reaching for this plaid bateau neck tunic sweater.  So chicly worn with silk shorts and pointy flats or cozied up with leggings and flat booties.  This amazing wool blend topper will be just right come October.  Try it paired with these skinny jeans, a soft turtleneck sweater and these boots.  Ahh, all this talk of autumn days has me craving those crisp cool days.  Can't wait!  Happy weekend!!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend.  It's a Madewell Monday on Chic Saturday.  Today I'm sharing my top favorite picks from the street-styled, tomboyish sister store of J. Crew.  Honestly, there's often very little from their offerings that I don't adore.  Easy to wear pieces, on-trend looks and an underlying sense of preppy gone cool, Madewell makes getting dressed fun and simple.   I love their mix and matchable pieces that are perfect for those days you can let your style show or simply want a laid back feel.  This plaid flannel is what I'll reach for when I want to be cozy.  Always the bookworm, these tortoise rimmed frames sit on my nightstand ready to help me sport the look.  Add this clutch in and just like that, the librarian cliché is working.  French verbiage is something I can never get enough of and Madewell completely understands this.  This sweater and this comfy sweatshirt are each on my wish list for fall.      So much to love and so many easy ways to look effortlessly tomboy chic.

Wishing you a beautiful week and thanks so much for reading!
