maxi dresses

May is here and so is the maxi dress.  Flowy, feminine and flattering on all body types, this piece might be the single most important piece you can own for spring and summer.  From running around town to a picnic on the beach this dress has you covered.  I'm currently loving this one and thinking about all the ways I can wear it.  A panama hat and easy sandals (so loving these Hermes dupes for under $80) for daytime and a straw clutch and strappy heel for date night read, double duty.  This boho version is so cute and exactly what I'm craving for summer.  It's so pretty and could be worn anywhere from an alfresco dinner to a garden wedding.  Truly luscious.  This is an equally lovely option and will allow you to splurge on other things (aka it's under $60).  I've linked these picks along with a few others for you below.  Hope everyone's having a great week!

Hello, August.  Whenever number eight gets flipped on the calendar a bunch of wonderful realizations pop into my mind.  First, what an amazing summer it's been so far...and there's more than a month left to go! I think about all the fun times I've checked off on my sunshine list and I dream a little more about what I can't wait to do and see coming up.  I also start looking forward to the season ahead around now.  Fall is by far my favorite season of all and that's amid some pretty stiff competition, haha.  There are so many incredible reasons as to why I love autumn so much but I can't get ahead of myself just yet.  More on the sights, smells, adventures and of course, clothes of fall coming up in September.

Right now, I'm focused on the ease and laid-back style that is August.  To me this month is like the Sunday of summer.  The handwork is done and it's time to relish in the dreams of the future.  The clothes this month can and should reflect that feel.  I love the ease of this dress.  It can easily go from day to night, lunch date to lounge.  This maxi version is also the piece to get your hands on right now.  I love how easy they are to wear (and pack) and how versatile they can be at the same time.  Off the shoulder tops are still in major rotation in my closet.  This one is a current fave.  One last piece that is great for now and perfect for later is this sleeveless turtleneck top. Pair it with your denim skinnies and sneakers for late summer and then layer it under a roomy blouse and with a mini aline and these booties.  Aren't easy options wonderful?  Hope you're having a great Wednesday!

Lately I find myself living in one of summer's easiest staples, the sundress.  After work and on the weekend, they are my go-to uniform.  I love how effortless yet chic they are, making them ideal for the summer months.  These looks are some of my favorite styles seen on the street.  Pairing them with strappy sandals (currently craving these, these and these) and a big floppy hat makes them as versatile as they are pretty.   And, unlike some of the wish list items I covet, sundresses are styled to fit every budget.  From the wallet-friendly to the splurge-worthy, there is a style to suit every need.

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

If I had to pick a place synonymous with summer {and yes there are many} I'd have to say that Greece is certainly one of them.  Azure blue skies and sun soaked days stretched out amid sprawling white logo houses along the island landscape all beg to be met with style that emulates beauty and grace.  Today I'm taking that essence and styling it for summer in all ways from the ethereal to the everyday.

When trying on this look for your most casual of days, I am in love with this Berjema tunic dress from Anthropologie.  It's simply perfect for long-awaited days of sunshine and street strolling.   The sand and sea also beckon a long white look and this Free People Santorini wrap dress takes you there.  It's easily the most luxe of all beach cover ups.  If the night calls for a more glamourous look then this embroidered lace maxi dress would be my pick.  It's beautiful and billowy with a shoulder baring neckline and ribbon tied waist.

I loved this mythical little trip to the Greek isles, didn't you?  Tell me, where do you want your wardrobe to take you this summer?

Wishing you a beautiful Wednesday!
