August resonates with me in so many wonderful ways.  Days are long, nights are sultry, no one is in a hurry and we're all just pretty much on vacation time wherever that may be.  Today I wanted to share some pieces I feel are perfect for those said days ahead.  They're just the right blend of relaxation and romance that I absolutely adore.  Summer dresses are, as you know, my jam right now.  This easy, breezy number checks all the boxes.  It has a flowing silhouette, is my favorite length and incorporates simple button detailing giving off just the right bit of interest.  And, it is also under $100.  These sandals and then this hat (similar one here) are the ultimate partners in crime paired with it.  I absolutely love this swimsuit and it's price of under $30.  It's white, has the exact right amount of ruffle detailing and looks amazing on so many different body types.  Oversized sunnies always win the game for me and this pair is everything. Tie your hair back with a sweet scrunch like this one and you have nothing left to do but order a cocktail, haha.

TGIF everyone!  The weekend is here...who has some fun plans?  I love that we can be freer to roam now.  And, while we are all still social distancing to some degree, that doesn't mean we can't have fun.  The beach is always a great spot to find some.  It's a well known fact that the east coast is famous for its beaches.  From Cape May to the Hamptons, Rhode Island to Nantucket and on up to Maine, the landscapes are gorgeous and the style vibe is unmistakable.  Think preppy meets glam and you get a sense of what I am saying.  The pieces I've picked out for today's post really showcase the style well.  Blues, white, natural neutrals, and of course the classic pop of red, all capture the look beautifully.  Everything about an east coast summer has such an iconic feel to it and personally, I can never get enough.  Some great places to scoop up pieces that give the vibe are some of my favorite places to shop during the seaside season (think J. Crew, Tod's, Vineyard Vines, Jack Rogers and Kiel James Patrick).  Old fashioned American beauty at its best.  Light the bonfire and grab a towel for the clambake because truth be told, there is nothing quite like an east coast summer.

There comes a time each season amid the fashion landscape when one catches a glimpse of things to comes.  It seems that time is now as we are starting to consistently see what's next in the shapes, sizes and silhouettes of clothing's tops and bottoms.  One that's caught my eye lately is the fluted sleeve.  This elegant yet albeit more dramatic sister of the bell sleeve is scorching a path through what's working for fall.  What started in spring amongst the cold shoulder set will continue through autumn and winter with sweaters and knits taking charge.  What I love is how easily this look transcends from a cotton blouse that easily befriends denim to the glamorous silk satin number that captures black tie optional.  Truly a look for every occasion.  I've currently been wearing the relaxed cotton version with denim cutoffs, these sandals and a high pony.  Come cooler days, I'm excited to pair this knit version with dark denim skinnies, these tall boots and this suede bag (also loving this one).  Why hello October!  These pieces and more are linked below.  Hope your week has begun with you doing something you love.  Thanks for sharing part of that with me!

So here's a little Monday sunshine to brighten what's hopefully already a sunny day.  These bits and pieces with their pops of yellow, shades of cork and straw and inky contrasts all work so beautifully to evoke the feel of summer and sun.  I love this off the shoulder top from J. So here's a little Monday sunshine to brighten what's hopefully already a sunny day.  These bits and pieces with their pops of yellow, shades of cork and straw and inky contrasts all work so beautifully to evoke the feel of summer and sun.  I love this off the shoulder top from J. Closet staples are such a major part of building a wardrobe that can take you far with just a few key pieces.  For me, one of those staples is the white pant.  Whether you favor the classic skinny, worn-in vintage or the 'new again' flare, these tips on what to pair with it and how to create the look will take you all through your summer in style.  My two current favorite white silhouettes are this skinny and this flare pair.  No matter which you choose, the most flattering look is all about balance.  The body con skinny works best whenever it's complemented by a looser and sometimes longer flowing top.  A great voluminous cold shoulder version (loving this one) evens out the look by drawing the eye up.  An off the shoulder top and a great pair of wedges can do the same thing.  If classic pieces are more your go-to, the skinny white pant can also work flawlessly with the iconic striped bateau.  Nothing says American summer like the always right navy and white combo.  I'd say punch the look up with a fun pair of pink espadrilles or go Jackie O. with these classic slip on sandals.  

I didn't think I'd ever say this but I'm so happy to see the flare come back around.  High-waisted versions are even better as they are so very flattering and work perfectly with cute crop tops and waist baring midriffs.  A cute crossbody with eye-appealing hardware (this one is on major rotation with me right now) or a flirty fringed option that doubles as a clutch would each be adorable with this kind of look.  Be sure to invest in two pairs of this jean with different inseams so you can wear both a flat and a heel depending upon where you're going and who you're going with.

In anticipation of the birthday of our beautiful country, here are some chic and easy ways to get dressed, decorate and celebrate in classic all American style.  From beach to barbecue, these ideas will inspire you to playfully show off your patriotic pride.
