French fashion

There are so many amazing ways to combine tastes and styles and Paris meets New York is definitely one of mine.  The allure and mystique of elegant French girl style mixed with a bit of that New York City edge get me every time.

This sweater can easily go either way.  Black cashmere is always a must and never disappoints.  Pair it simply with your favorite jeans (loving these lately), a black wool trench, this scarf and bring on the fall.  As an unexpected twist, I say add in these super chic little black boots.  They are so amazing in this color but come in a lighter neutral shade as well if you want to add them to your cognac, ivory and taupe looks.

A classic trench of the wool variety absolutely hits the mark right about now.  I love it in navy as well as the black version.  Either would work for this look.  It's really just a matter of one's personal preference.  For me, I love that little bit of richness and unexpected mystery the navy option exudes.  So chic.

Of course, no look is ever quite finished without some brilliant accessories.  This bag clearly fits the bill.  I really love this brand for its simplicity that always adds just the right touch of class.  These sunnies are new and a must-have for my collection.  It's been a while since I invested, haha.  Gold hoops, this watch and of course a beret round out the look giving it the perfect Paris meets New York feel.

Ahhh, I can not wait for the day when we can all travel freely again! How about you guys? What cities spark your wanderlust?

In the meantime, thank goodness for style journies!

So call me a romantic but this latest post was unapologetically inspired by one of those so-called sappy summer Hallmark movies, which I was completely enthralled to watch, haha.  Summer Villa told of an American writer and playboy chef, each uninspired by their day jobs and in need of some idyllic r & r.  Unbeknownst to each other, they end up sharing the same French villa and predictably, they fall in love.  Predictability aside, sometimes you just need to lose yourself in the vision of a feel good movie.

These pieces are some of my perfect picks for spending the summer in the French countryside.  I mean, could anything be better? Lavender fields, provencal landscapes and tranquility as far as the eye can see each play so beautifully with soft, earthy and romantic pieces like these.  French women know the impact of quality over quantity and how to make a few pieces work for you.  This simple front tie button down is one of those items you can reach for and wear in a multitude of ways.  I love it over a simple sundress, tied on top of paper bag waist pants or paired with a subtly sexy maxi skirt. These sandals are on my wishlist right now as they are a bit of a splurge.  These make for a very good dupe.  Simple accessories are another summer favorite.  This straw bag and wide brimmed hat are the perfect pair to take with you on a summer street stroll and to the farmer's market.  I'm also loving hair ties with all kinds of interest.  Scarf styled ones like this are perfect for the summer rotation.

If you could travel anywhere to spend the summer, where would it be?  Hope you are all make the most of your Monday...thanks for spending this part of it with me!

xx,

~K
