First Ladies of Fashion

In honor of last night's glorious Fashion's Night Out, I decided to dedicate today's post to some of my favorite designers aka Ladies of Fashion both classic and current.

COCO CHANEL: Quilted bags, chain link purses, tweed jackets, cap toe shoes, interlocking Cs and oversized black sunglasses are each the trademark of fashion's true first lady.  Classically chic design was born unto her and is still relevant today.  The name Chanel is synonymous with style.

TORY BURCH:  Fabulous flats, must-have handbags and a plethora of of-the-moment accessories all touted as "affordable luxury" have made Ms. Burch a fashion-loving girl's best friend.  I can say that I'm a huge fan of all things Tory, as is evident on a daily basis.

JENNA LYONS:  J Crew named her their creative director and her intense fashion sense beckoned her an up and coming icon in the industry.  Known for her somewhat quirky style and affinity for the unexpected, Ms. Lyons has made a name for herself and J. Crew as well by taking classic, preppy style and turning it into a fashion forward staple.  Jenna's picks are always on my must-see list.

KATE SPADE:  Lady-like details and all things girlie are what Kate Spade both covets and inspires.  Structured handbags, feminine fashions and old-school glamour jewelry are a few of the things that come to mind when thinking of Kate Spade style.  Always moving forward and keeping in step with the wants and needs of today's modern woman is what keeps Kate on top of her game.

RACHEL ZOE:  It's that classic eye for fashion, reminiscent of Coco Chanel, coupled with a modern and edgy take on what's new and what's now, that take Rachel Zoe out of the box and into the spotlight.  What I love about Ms. Zoe is the fact that for her, fashion is as effortless and easy as it is stunning and chic.  I love taking a cue from her on embracing fashion and making it your own, otherwise known as cultivating personal style.

Thank you ladies.  Your contributions sparkle and shine today and everyday, as everyday is always a fashion show with the world as our runway.  Happy Friday and thanks for reading!
