J. Crew presented its Spring 2013 ready to wear line at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on Tuesday, displaying classic favorites as well as newer styles inspired by far shores and exotic locales.  Tom Mora, women's vice president of design under creative director and fashion force, Jenna Lyons for J. Crew, was creatively inspired by photos and designs he found while looking through Time-Life books at home.  The result was a fashion forecast of beauty to behold.

What we saw was that color was key with big splashes of bright pink and tropical azure, lush greens and sunshiny yellows.  Also keeping pace were patterns and prints that spoke of a far off exotic paradise.  This is not to say, however, that the classic style points, upon which this brand's been built, were not clearly present.  Brocade shorts, graphic print pullovers, critter adorned pants, and patterned blouses all paired with bright hued shoes and punchy accessories lead us to know that this is still the J. Crew we know and
 love.

It amazes me how, in anticipation of each new season, I somehow always feel that there is no possible way for Ms. Lyons and crew to further entice and enchant me.  Yet every season, they so delightfully do so.  To that I say thank you...Let's continue this lovely journey one sublime season at a time.
Paradise awaits...
