SPRING STYLE; Sunday Brunch

Springtime is a popular favorite for oh-so many reasons, one of which is the chance to enjoy a lovely brunch on a beautiful Sunday morning.  Not sure what exactly to pull from your closet?  Try using this simple pairing equation to get you out the door looking pretty and polished.

A print dress is always an easy and wearable choice.  A muted yet interesting print like this gorgeous pick from Tory Burch provides the perfect canvas for layering.  Next, since temperatures can vary this time of year, I always like to have the option of warming up.  Blazers can be perfect for that.  This neutral choice from H&M will work with a great dress like this on the weekend.  Later in the week, pair it with your fun bright denim skinnies and head out for drinks after work.
Once you have the basic outfit figured out it's time for easy accessories that will provide a polished finish.  I always go with a beautiful nude heel.  L.K. Bennett make some of my absolute favorites.  The height is always right and the shades of nude are beyond gorgeous.  If you haven't ever tried a pair for yourself I promise you'll fall in love.  Now, for the final details.  I feel most comfortable choosing a structured clutch.  It allows me to carry what I need and leave behind what I don't.  This woven and metallic one is my current coveted fave.  A large white watch complements the look while keeping it current.  And, finally, a sleek set of sunglasses provide the perfect finish and are a daily must have for me.

So there you have it.  A few key pieces that you can change up in terms of prints, patterns and colors depending upon the season and your mood.

Hello Yellow

The latest luscious hue that I am currently craving is....YELLOW.  From tees to totes and jackets to dresses, this color is quickly becoming a spring and summer favorite of mine.  From the look of things on the racks, it seems I'm not the only one.  Yellow plays as a beautiful neutral this year as well as lovely contrast to classics like grey and beige.

There are so many ways to enjoy wearing this color trend.  Try experimenting with a soft scarf  that ties together a basic white top and dark denim.  Finish the look with a pair of patent leather ballet flats showing a modest bit of gold hardware at the toe or heel back.

I am really loving the idea of getting a yellow staple piece too, like this Trent Rain Jacket.  I feel like you could easily pair it with a softly printed bottom {think slim skimmer pants in muted hues or a cute pair of patterned shorts like these seen here} and wear it as a contrasting piece.  Alternately, you could use its bright color to liven up an otherwise ordinary outfit by putting it on over a solid white, stone or navy outfit. Mix in a cute pair of patterned or print flats in complementing colors and you're out the door.

Another catchy way to wear this color?  As a pretty feminine floral.  This pattern looks especially fresh when paired with a soft striped tee, perfect for layering.  Thinking outside of the box a bit, you could even boldly wear a striped tee over a printed or floral dress for instant freshness.

No matter which way you prefer it, yellow brings a little bit of sunshine everywhere it goes.  How will you be wearing your latest color crush?

Have a lovely Monday and thanks so much for reading!

XO,

Kelly

COLOR CRUSH: Peony & Plum

Spring is such an inspiring time of year and the fresh new colors it evokes are definitely no exception.  While it's true I have more than a few favorites, this season {and every}, one color combo I'm consistently coveting is that of peony and plum.  Much like a high-low outfit contrast, these two hues strike the perfect balance yet somehow leave you wanting more.  From bottoms, toppers and easy layering pieces to bangles, ballets and balm, these colors have spring covered.

What's your favorite pairing this season?  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for reading!

XO,

Kelly

With the forecast for an early spring, it is perfectly fitting that the petite and pretty Liberty print is suddenly in full bloom. From blouses to bikinis and slips-ons to sleepwear, this lovely little pattern is showing up on fabrics everywhere.   Born in the UK, London's Liberty Art Fabrics have made their way stateside and quickly become an American favorite.  Now they've joined in a perfect partnership with J.
