Blue ocean breezes, dinner al fresco, melting ice cream cones and pretty sunsets have always been some of my favorite things about summer.  And, if you're anything like me add the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to that most-loved list.  Especially when it comes to Early Access time.  Nordstrom is nothing if not rewarding towards their most loyal clientele.  That's exactly what happens this time each year.  If you're at all interested in saving money on all of next season's most coveted items from your favorite designers and brands then this is the sale you cannot miss.  Having spent some time perusing these Early Access days (available to card holders) I have fallen in love with a few (ok, many!) key pieces I'm slowly buying up to refresh my closet for fall.  These boots, this poncho, this pair of denim and this handbag are all going to be so fun to wear come crisp days and starry nights.  I can't wait!  Fair warning...these items move fast.  As in wait and you miss them.  This bag is one of these "Oooops! The late days of October seem so perfectly made for the original calling card of chic…black.  From cat eye frames to thigh high boots, the options are plenty and oh so inspiring.  This turtleneck poncho is a look I live in all month long.  I love how easy and versatile it is.  I've been wearing mine with grey skinnies and this boot along with a a fresh feeling scarf like this one on casual days.  For a more elevated appeal, try pairing it with black cigarette pants, a killer heel and a glamorous pair of fur cuffed leather gloves.  Instantly you're a fresh take on vintage glam.  I bought this Chateau parka last year in black and wore it non-stop.  I love it so much that I'm considering getting it in another color this year (loving the heather grey and red!).  These sunglasses are still one of my favorite pairs (scoop yours up if you want them because they sell out fast).  What other classic black staple pieces are you loving now?  Let's share!

Truth be told it's taken every ounce of restraint I have to hold out on wearing my favorite tall boots.  Now that October is here, all bets are off and the boots are on.  We all know how the shoe makes the outfit and if that's the tipping point then the boot most definetly makes the wardrobe.  This is never more true than in the fall.  Whether we're talking skirts, shorts or the ever popular skinny jean, the tall boot plays so well with all.   What's even better is how many fantastic buying options there are for this go-to footwear.  It's obvious to say that so many of us fell in love with this gorgeous style from Stuart Weitzman.  What started with the 50/50 boot, beautifully designed and wonderfully flattering this boot is admittedly a bit pricey but pays for itself with every sexy stride.  Some of the more casual styles are also going to be perfect for these crisp days and chilly nights.  Cognac leather is so classic and lovely especially when paired with quintessially fall pieces like ponchos and pea coats and chic cozy sweaters.
