Polene bag

Well hello new season!  It's officially transitional dressing weather and today's post features some key pieces that will help you navigate those in between moments that can sometimes be tricky to dress for.  One key piece I find myself reaching for throughout March and April is the camel trench coat.  Honestly, this is a staple item that can really be worn nearly year round in some places which makes it the perfect piece to layer right now.  This version is a perfect shade of neutral and pairs just as well with smart trousers, jumpers and blouses as it does with a sweatshirt and some laidback joggers.

Another much loved piece at the minute is the cardigan sweater.  I love an easy version of this piece done in either a solid or perhaps like you see this one here featuring the classic black and white stripe.  I particularly think that the button detail lends a bit of interest to the piece and the look you'll be creating.  I especially love it with these trousers and a pair of trainers alongside a classic handbag and some gold hoops for a casual springtime look.

This style snapshot adheres to the three color rule which naturally delights me with its endless possibilities.  These items are linked below in case you also find something you like.  They may also resemble pieces you already own and simply give you a new perspective on how to style them heading into the spring days ahead.  Either way, enjoy the hopefully warmer days ahead as we welcome the transitional season!

My love affair with day dresses has been smoldering for some time now and with fall just around the corner, things are only going to get hotter.  Today I'm sharing some of the best transitional dresses I've found recently that are perfect for daytime and easy, casual dressing.

Let's start with something simple that works in multiple ways.  This dress checks all those boxes quite easily.  I love the voluminous silhouette that makes it so flattering on all body shapes.  The dropped hem is also quite cute and works so well with the fuller sleeve and drapy nature of the dress.   Of course, the black color is right up my alley as I just think it plays so perfectly with rich cognacs and tan leathers that help usher in the new season.

If prints are more your preference then perhaps you'll want to consider this frill sleeve midi dress from & Other Stories.  I love so much of what they do and this particular dress shows why.  Not being a huge fan of prints, it takes quite a lot to lure me in that direction nowadays, haha.  But honestly, this gorgeous color way and muted pattern work flawlessly together to create the most beautiful early autumn look.

Denim is also always part of the story each season.  This sweet little frock is one I'd happily slip into on the way to some daytime fun.  The fabric is perfect for late summer, early fall and the cut is quite easy to wear as well.

Finally, we can't end our stay without mentioning the all time classic, the t-shirt dress.  This style has been popular for years and the look is somewhat of a staple when it comes to creating an ultra easy daytime look.  This one is done non such a lovely shade of sage green which will work with any of the basic neutrals you may already own.

Each of these pieces would pair nicely with either sandals or trainers at the minute.  A well-crafted leather bag like this one would be an easy way to accessorize any of these dresses along with a fun hat and some classic shaped sunglasses.

And there you have it, some of my favorite ways to style the dress for some late summertime fun.  Hope you're all enjoying a great week...see you on Friday!

Summertime fashion always puts me in a good mood and today's post will make you see why.  Romantic dresses with feminine details are such a fun part of the season and thankfully, they are quite easy to style.    These three looks I've put together today require little more than a great handbag, some glamorous sunglasses and a nice pair of summer shoes.

This green one is perhaps my favorite of the three for several reasons.  First off, I do love the neckline on this one paired with the bit of a ruffle capped sleeve.  Add to that the smocked chest detailing, which seems to be something I'm really loving at the minute, and the flirty tearing and it all comes together to create a really flattering daytime look.  I would probably wear it with a nice feminine mule and a classic straw tote in colors that nicely complement the green color while effortlessly tying the look all together in just a few easy steps.

My second look is this Sabrina dress from Hill House.  I really love the bodice on this one .  I think that the way it sort of draws the torso in while enhancing the bust line helps it to create a sort of silhouette that really flatters all figures. whether you're smaller framed or gorgeous and curvy.  A simple espadrille and a lovely straw hat and a classic pair of stud earrings complete the look with such style and grace.

Last, I chose this Katherine nap dress which can be worn a variety of ways.  I think that it is just so easy going and can be worn equally well with either sneakers or some braided leather slides.  I love it styled with this Polene bag in the color blush and these sunglasses for a fun summer day.

It's really that easy as I think summer dressing should be.  I hope you find something here that inspires you.  Thanks for visiting.  Feel free to shop the links below.  Enjoy!

Happy Presidents' Day!  Hopefully, some of you are enjoying a long weekend and relaxing (rather than working for a change!) from home.  No matter if it's a day off or a day on one thing is constant and that is the need for a really good handbag.

If you're a bag lady like me, haha then you have probably invested in a luxury bag at some point and treated yourself to a splurge or two.  Others of us might want to save our cash for other necessities and still some are of a minimalist mindset and want a great bag that holds only what we need and is good on the go.

No matter what your handbag happiness is, I've rounded up something for everybody and every budget.  From totes to hobos and everything in between I think you'll find it here.

Hello February! The month of love is one of my favorites and what better way to celebrate it than to spoil yourself with a great gift.  Of course, you can drop a hint on him and share your most-wished for item or you can treat yourself or someone special to something they'll love this Valentine's Day.

Monograms are one of my favorite things and something I love buying for myself.  This ring is so darling and the perfect addition to any jewelry wardrobe.

Another great me-to-me idea is fragrance.  This scent from Tocca is so romantic and the beautifully designed bottle is so gorgeous to look at on my bedroom vanity.

This beautiful frame and this trinket dish are two more lovely adornments to the home.  Keep your most-reached for accessories in one and your favorite photo in the other.

Self-care is the new spa day and what better way to take care of yourself than to treat yourself to a comfy pair of pillow soft pjs and these slippers?  Add in a sleep mask and these under eye patches and your eyes will thank you in the morning!

Saving the best for last, a new bag you've been eyeing might just be the perfect way to indulge this Valentine's Day.  For me, that has to be this Polene bag.  Soft, supple, butter-like leather and the most gorgeous shade selection coupled with the feminine, classic style make it sooooo hard to resist.  I'm torn between the camel and this one.  Which do you love more?

I've linked the rest of the pretty picks you see here today in the thumbnails below.  Hope you find something you love!
