Kendra Scott

There's something just so effortless and chic about pairing neutrals with classic shades like black and white.  While it's still summer, I'm opting for the latter and putting together an easy, wearable look that would be great for whenever you're wanting a casual outfit that speaks volumes.

These white jeans have been my absolute favorite this season.  First off, I love the cut which is extremely flattering on so many body shapes.  The high-waisted cut is very comfortable and simply elongates the leg whether you're model height or perfectly petite.  Along with hat, the ankle length hits at just the right spot eliminating that awkward chopping off of the leg and ankle that capri length jeans and trousers can sometimes do.

Here I'm choosing to pair them with a lovely little popover top.  I think that this one is just so nicely done with the puff sleeved detail and pretty gathered front.  It would be equally nice worn with a long pencil skirt and some kitten heels.

For me, gold jewelry always wins.  And this pair of sailor knots is just what this look is needing.  These stackable rings are also quite gorgeous and would be another fitting addition to the look we're creating here.

Smart extras like a silk scarf are an easy way to add some interest to your outfit.  This one is a particularly nice choice here as the bit of black works back to that of these sunglasses, tying the entire look together.

My favorite summer sandals and basket bag fill out the final details completing the look in a way I absolutely love.  Ahhh, everything in life should be as easy as dressing for the day, haha.  I hope you're all having a fun and productive Monday.  Enjoy!

SHOP THE LOOK:

My kind of blue Monday is anything but depressing. While shopping around a bit this weekend, I took notice of several colors and styles now trending.  These looks here today are some of my latest loves seen on the street and ready for spring.  Blue hues are everywhere now from leather accessories (I'm in love with this bucket bag!) to chambray shirt dresses.  The casual vibe is easy for any day but gets easily embellished with a great necklace like this one.  I love a flirty floral skirt paired with a French-inspired striped bateau top all in shades of blue. What about you….what's your favorite way to wear the blues?

Wishing everyone a well-spent Monday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Fashion Week has been a whirlwind of gorgeous looks, fast-paced fashion, eye candy palettes and simply put, beauty for miles.  I've enjoyed every moment I was able to spend soaking in the New York fashion set.  One of my favorite of those was being able to catch up with blogger friends from all across the nation.  Here is a photo diary of some of the fun moments we shared amid the New York City skyline.    Naturally, the clothes were amazing…If you like what you see, you can shop some of the looks below. So much thanks to Reward Style, InStyle magazine, Kendra Scott, Ann Taylor, Piperlime, BlueflyZinkÄ“ and Topshop  for all the gorgeous goodies and a wonderful time.

Hope your weekend includes plans for something fun….Happy Friday everyone!

Labor Day Weekend Sales are hot and ready.  So many of my favorite designers and brands are featuring end of summer steals you won't want to miss.  Here are my favorites:

Tory Burch is offering 20% off when you spend $300, 25% off when you spend $500, and 30% off when you spend $750 using the code LABORDAY14. This is the time shop as Tory doesn't often go on sale AND this sale includes EVERYTHING online not just end-of-season savings.  If you want it, this weekend is your chance to get because you won't find a better deal on her items for the rest of the season! So many beautiful, brand new styles are available and definitely worth checking out.

If you've been following me for anytime now, then you likely know I'm a huge fan of Nordstrom's.  The  Nordstrom Labor Day Sale is another one of my picks for the best sale of the weekend and here's why.  Their amazing anniversary sale last month is always the place to score your best pre-season steals.  And now, they've marked down those same designer pieces to even less than the anniversary sale price.  This sweater coat from Vince is a must if you haven't scooped it up yet (it's 33% off!) A hundred pages of other great markdowns are all there for the taking.

Here's a snapshot of other sales going on this weekend:

J.Crew: 40% off final sale, free shipping on all orders over $100
J.Crew Factory: 40-60% off everything
Baublebar: Select jewelry starting at 50% off
C.Wonder: 30% off full-priced items
GiGi New York: Free personalization and free shipping
Sephora: Up to 75% off summer makeup favorites
Sole Society: Select shoes up to 70% off
Kendra Scott 15% off & free shipping with code 2014LDW
Nasty Gal: 60% off select styles
Old Navy: 40% off everything in stores and online
Lulu and Georgia: 25% off everything

Happy Labor Day!

For as long as I can remember, back-to-school shopping has always been one of my favorite things.  Funny how some things always remain the same.  Pretty dresses, shiny new shoes, fresh makeup and of course, a great new handbag, were always on my wish list.  Even though I'm no longer a student, I still get giddy over the fall wardrobe refresh.  Today I've put together a more grown-up version of that classic school girl style.  Some of my must-haves this year include this pretty silk dress in this beautiful shade of bordeaux.  I think it's perfect for those still warm days when you want your look to be comfortable yet autumn-inspired.  Booties are always on my list and these putty-colored suede ones are too cute to miss.  I love it when the weather turns cooler and you need just a little something to throw on.  This vintage expedition jacket will be just perfect for those crisp mornings.  I never risk ruining my good shoes in puddles or rainstorms so these shiny new Hunters are a definite want for me.  Finally, whether you're heading to class or into the office, you'll need a really great bag to hold all of your essentials.  These two totes (here and here both on SALE this weekend) are two gorgeous options that get it done in style.

I hope you all have a lovely last weekend of summer and don't forget to check back for more can't miss Labor Day sales links.  Happy shopping!!

A new year means new hopes, new goals and new ways to look great while getting there.  Today we are following Pantone's lead with the Color of the Year for 2014 and discovering gorgeous ways to take on the trend from head to toe.  Radiant orchid has earned the new title and what hue to move towards spring in could prettier than that?

Whenever there's something new that's trending, we sometimes tend to want to wear it everywhere in every way.  Proceed with caution, however.  While it's definitely ok to incorporate what's new in as many ways as you wish,  be certain not to do it all at once.  Here's a quick list of eight great and glam ways to incorporate the color into your look:

How will you be embracing the trend in 2014?  Here's to all the colorful possibilities!
