With unofficial end of summer just mere days away, I'm rounding up the best pieces to put together for the perfect season ending look.  Layering warm weather pieces with autumn favorites creates an unmistakable page-turning look that can take you anyway from here.  I tend to build mine around one or two simple yet stellar pieces that can pair with others or stand on their own.  This gingham blouse is classic and timeless which is the reason why it works so well in so many scenarios.  Instead of putting it with summer's white shorts or cropped pants, I'm matching mine with this scalloped hem skirt and navy blue hunters.  Layer the look up a bit with a great silk scarf and this gorgeously soft cable knit sweater I can't wait to wear.  The color, the feel and the classic preppy essence are each amazing.  I'm also loving this ladylike bag that's pretty much on the top of my wish list right now and these pretty little planners that will keep everything I need right at my fingertips.  If summer must go, why not send it off in style?    You can shop the look in the thumbnails below.  Hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start!

With summer winding down and September stepping up, it's time to whip that closet into shape for the coming change in seasons.  Today I'm sharing the five pieces that'll get you through the season in classic fashion with glam to spare.  The first thing I reach for once layering comes to mind is a crisp white shirt.  There are so many things I love about it (including its versatility and chic appeal) and its possibilities are endless.  At the start of fall, I love to wear mine with a pair of slightly distressed jeans, a favorite pair of ballet flats and a classic statement bag.  After sporting sandals all summer long, my feet need an easy transition back into real footwear.  Loafers are such a simple choice yet they can take an otherwise ordinary look and turn it into adorably cute.  The little bit of ankle they reveal is oh so alluring.  Other must-haves that make dressing easy are black and white striped tops that you can pair with some fun capris and flats.  A sexy trench is always a must.  I love it worn over a black body con dress and with a pair of over-the-knee boots.  Still, all told, my favorite choice for a fall fashion staple is a black turtleneck.  There's absolutely no limit to the number of ways you can wear it.  I'll be pairing mine with denim skinnies and this shoe.  I'm also thinking of trying on the trend and wearing it atop this pair of flared denim jeans with a great floppy and these sunnies.  Hello boho.  Last, and possibly most appealing to me, is wearing a great black turtleneck sweater with a skirt, tights and these ankle boots. Who's excited for fall to begin?  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

It's no secret that I've had a longtime love affair with America's favorite, the ever classic J. Crew.  And even though I pretty much adore their signature pieces all year long, I crave beyond crave their fall collections.  This year is no exception.  In fact, it's one of the best in a while.  Flipping through the glossy pages of their current catalog (shot entirely in Paris - need I say more?!) I felt like I was somewhat living a French fantasy and didn't want to leave.  So, this pretty peony silk blouse is so feminine and chic and looks just as great with jeans and these D'Orsay loafers as it does with a pencil skirt and heels.  These suede ankle boots are in such a gorgeous shade of dark cloud gray and are the perfect complement to this season's rich jewel tones.  Speaking of amazing looks I am absolutely in love with this camel colored cape.  Oh!  It will look oh-so beautiful with a black and white striped tee, easy jeans and classic black ballet flats.  Très magnifique!

One thing I love to reach for all seasons of the year is some soft and easy chambray.  It's always a classic staple and is showing up everywhere this fall.  There are just so many ways to wear it and today I'm sharing some of my favorites.  This chambray blouse has been a longtime must-have piece in my closet.  Of course it's the perfect choice to pair with boyfriend denim, a great belt and these heels.  But when cooler days come around, I love how the same blouse looks when worn casually with denim skinnies, these flats, a chic poncho and a great handbag like this one.  So simple and so casually elegant.  I also always pair my favorite fitting jeans (this pair is fantastic and fits like a dream) with a French-inspired striped bateau top and fun fedora.  Ahh, it's got that easy 'Saturday morning feel' like nothing else I know.  Last, well-fitted blazers never go out of style, just ask Ralph Lauren.  This time, I'm thinking of trying a great classic choice like this one and giving it some added personality with a fun printed belt.  If you're looking for a few great chambray pieces to add to your closet right now be sure to check out these here.  I don't know about you but I'm so very ready for the weekend and some long-awaited down time.  Happy Friday!

Fall fashion is such great fun, not to mention one of my favorite ways to express my creative side.  Cozy fabrics, rich colors, intensified textures and lots of layers make for plenty of room to play.  This season's "it colors" are some of the most gorgeous ones you'll ever find.  Of course I'm excited for them all but I'll admit that merlot and burgundy are my biggest craves at the moment.  This burgundy shift dress (on major sale!) would be the perfect early fall piece to get in your closet now.  The color is fabulous and the three-quarter sleeves are something I love for those first "autumn's in the air" days.  I'm pairing mine with ankle booties (love this pair), a great gold and blush watch and this floppy fedora.  On cooler days grab a utility jacket and cool scarf and you're set.  Stripes and checks are always part of the fall canvas and I'm always so happy about that.  This window pane blouse is super cute worn with your boyfriend denim and these boots.  Add in a fun pair of frames (this color looks adorable on!) and you have the perfect casual go-to look.  If you're feeling the fall craze too, you can find all these picks along with my other wish list faves in the thumbnails below.  Hope you're all enjoying the week so far….Thanks for reading!

It's mid-August already and that can mean only one thing, fall is around the corner.  With that in mind, wardrobe transition pieces will be getting a major workout over the next several weeks.  If you've been out shopping the latest finds and looks, you've probably noticed tons of plaid in all shapes, sizes, patterns and fabrics.  Today I've put together some of my favorite ways to wear the classic fall look both now and moving forward.  This plaid shirtdress (designed by fellow blogger Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere fame) would work perfectly on those still warmish days paired with a great pair of ankle boots and this bag.  When days turn a little bit cooler I'll be reaching for this plaid bateau neck tunic sweater.  So chicly worn with silk shorts and pointy flats or cozied up with leggings and flat booties.  This amazing wool blend topper will be just right come October.  Try it paired with these skinny jeans, a soft turtleneck sweater and these boots.  Ahh, all this talk of autumn days has me craving those crisp cool days.  Can't wait!  Happy weekend!!

Spending time in the kitchen is one of my favorite ways to enjoy days off. From cooking fun dinners and baking sweet treats to recreating restaurant favorites, the kitchen definitely can be called my happy place.  With that in mind, it follows that I love being able to make cooking and creating even more fun with the chicest and sweetest kitchen accessories.  I've always been a huge fan of the vintage items you can adorn your kitchen with from great places like Anthropologie and now One Kings Lane.  This oven mitt set is in my baking closet right now along with the cutest matching apron.  The apron selection at Anthro is amazing!  I'm also always looking for colorful ways to add character and charm to the kitchen.  This darling little dish towel does so perfectly.  Being an avid mug collector, I just couldn't pass up this one.  Cocoa and tea are just seem sweeter when enjoyed in your fave ceramic.  For more wonderful home inspo, you can check out my In the Kitchen and For the Home boards on my Pinterest page where there are loads of recipes and home decor ideas to share.  You can also shop my kitchen faves via the links below.  Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Monday! I'm feeling so inspired by color lately and the gorgeous fall palettes showing up just about everywhere. Before I jump head first into those rich autumn hues (more of those coming soon!) I wanted to worship summer a little bit more and put together a great late season look featuring white, blush and nudes and an umistakeable seventies vibes.  This post was the inspo for this look.  I love the feminine charm that's so romantic but also so easy to wear.  These jeans are back on the scene and so flattering.  I'm also enjoying all these soft, lovely blouse and the way they pair so beautifully with blushes and nudes.  Accessories are also a part of the big picture and tie the whole look together.  This watch is so pretty and would work just as well with those rich wine tones moving forward.  These peep toe Vince sandals, this blush bag and this bangle bracelet (loving the initial!) are the perfect complements to the overall look.   What could be better on a Monday?  Have a wonderful day!

The impending change of seasons means transition time for one's wardrobe and wonderful news for all the 'wear now, wear later' pieces you may be craving this minute.  Even if you haven't added one new piece to your closet you can still take advantage of this style moment with a little clever mixing and matching.  To achieve this easy summer into fall look, take a classic piece you've been wearing all season like this soft chambray blouse.  Instead of paring it with those white shorts this time, try putting it together with a knee length black skirt like this and some edgy leather peep toe booties.  They're the next step towards fall that gives a nod to summer's end.  A casually luxe bag with some gorgeous gold hardware detailing kicks it up a bit by elevating the look to everyday glam.  These gorgeous sunnies (which I really want right now), a felt floppy and this statement watch take the look and tie it all together effortlessly well.  Really, it's as simple as that and it's all something you can do with the pieces you already own.  What could be easier?

Hope this little wardrobe redeux inspires you to find new ways to wear old favorites moving forward.  Wishing you a lovely day!

It may only be the turn of the page but once August shows up, I instantly get a sense of autumn being on the way.  With it will come new looks and old favorites worn in ways that make everything feel fresh for the new season.  One trend I've been following is fringe  everything.  Admittedly, my most often reached for way to wear it has been on a handbag (I so adore Rebecca Minkoff's take on it and this one by Frye.  Irresistibly incredible!) Or a great pair of ankle boots like these.  There are still so many other ways to incorporate the look into any outfit you choose.  With cooler temps becoming the norm, I'm already dreaming of sweaters and think this off the shoulder crocheted fringe number would look so adorable paired with a flowing maxi dress right now and then a pair of denim skinnies and these boots later on.  Also on my radar are these fringed ankle strap heels.  They'd be so chic with a pencil skirt, soft-fitting silk blouse and this clutch or quite fetching paired with some boyfriend denim, a classic white blouse and fur vest.  Toss this necklace on with it and you'll have completely rounded out the tomboy meets glamour girl look.  If anyone wants to take this trend full on then I'd say go for a great-fitting leather or suede fringe-trimmed jacket.  The color choices are amazing and this kind of piece can be worn late summer over white capris or a skirt and later on with black skinnies or some rich dark washed denim. Loop a colorful scarf around your neck and say hello to a fall date night.  For more fun ideas and picks pictured here you can shop the links below.  Hope everyone's having a great week so far!
